📋 About This Mod
These are config files that just add keywords to the OAR conditions of Spellsword Moveset, in order to support more weapon types.
I have tested the following weapon types in my own mod list:
[]Battleaxe
[]Dagger
[]Glaive
[]Greatsword
[]Halberd
[]Katana
[]Long Mace
[]Mace
[]Nodachi
[]Pike
[]Quarterstaff
[]Rapier
[]Saber
[]Scythe
[]Shortspear
[]Spear
[]Tanto
[]Trident
[]War Axe
[]Warhammer
I recommend the use of Dynamic Grip to hold Two-Handed weapons with one hand.
I imagine for the majority of players this will cover everything, but if you want me to update this with more Weapon Types then let me know.
I am new to modding so if I broke etiquette in some way or did something wrong, please inform me.
Spellsword Moveset - Weapon Expansion adds OAR config keywords to support 20 additional weapon types for the Spellsword Moveset mod, including battleaxes, daggers, glaives, and more. It's a lightweight patch for players who want to use diverse weapons with the moveset, tested by the author in their own mod list.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community trust with 131 endorsements and over 8,000 downloads.
- Expands Spellsword Moveset to cover 20 weapon types, so you're not stuck with just swords.
- Lightweight config patch—no heavy scripts or meshes, just drop-in keywords.
⚠️ Cons
- Requires Spellsword Moveset and OAR as dependencies—if you don't have those, this does nothing.
- Author is new to modding, so there might be edge cases or conflicts not yet ironed out.
- Compatibility risk with other mods that alter OAR conditions for the same weapons—test with your load order.
For Skyrim players who use Spellsword Moveset and want to wield a wider variety of weapons without breaking the moveset animations. If you're a purist who sticks to swords, you don't need this. Skip if you're not using OAR or Spellsword Moveset.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have Open Animation Replacer installed and properly configured before adding this patch.
- If you want to use two-handed weapons with one hand, grab Dynamic Grip as recommended—it makes the animations look right.
- Test the new weapon types in a combat scenario to ensure the animations trigger correctly; if something feels off, check your load order for conflicts.
