📋 About This Mod

This mod is a single, combined patch capable of supporting the following Spell Research Addons (Note: You do NOT need to install all of them for this mod. Every addon is OPTIONAL and this patch will support any combination of addons you choose to install):

- Experience Book (+enhanced graphics)

- Convenience Add-On

- Convenience Add-On No Fade Patch - Fully bundled in as an MCM option, disabled by default

- Spell Composing

- Make Tomes when you learn spells (Spell Grimoire Patch) - Fully bundled in as an MCM option, disabled by default

- Skyrim Souls RE

It does not automatically support Tweaks and Mercantilism, because holy hell that mod is weirdly large and does a lot of things woowie. It also doesn't support the No-Fade tweak for Convenience Addon because the author wouldn't get back to us for permission.

IMPORTANT! This mod obsoletes any other Addon inter-patches. You will only need the original addons, and this.

How It Works:

The mod essentially rewrites the original _SR_QuestScript.pex to have optional conditions capable of detecting which of the three addons above are installed or not, and will apply the appropriate methods when that is the case.

So for instance, if you use the Convenience Addon and Experience Book, you will be able to sit and open the Book in your journal. If you use none of these addons at all, you will not be able to sit and will not see an experience book option. If you use Spell Composing and Experience Book, the Composing widget and Book will show up, but you will not be able to open either while sitting.

In addition, it makes all of these mods compatible with Skyrim Souls RE

There is an MCM option for Spell Composing to periodically update the magicka bar and date/time text. This has a small purely visual bug so this is disabled by default.

Installation:

- Download and install with your mod manager, just make sure this overwrites the other spell research mods.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

A single combined patch for Spell Research that supports optional addons like Experience Book, Convenience Add-On, Spell Composing, and Skyrim Souls RE. It rewrites the quest script to detect installed addons and applies appropriate behaviors, making them work together. Requires the original Spell Research mod and any chosen addons.

✨ Key Features

Combines patches for Experience Book, Convenience Add-On, Spell Composing, and Skyrim Souls RE into one file.
Includes MCM options for Convenience Add-On No Fade and Spell Grimoire, disabled by default.
Rewrites _SR_QuestScript.pex to detect which addons are installed and apply appropriate conditions.
Makes all supported addons compatible with Skyrim Souls RE.
Obsoletes other inter-patches, so you only need the original addons and this patch.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • One patch to rule them all—no more juggling multiple compatibility patches (263 endorsements).
  • Smart script detection means it works with any combination of the supported addons, so you only install what you use.
  • MCM toggles for optional features like No Fade and Grimoire give you control without extra files.

⚠️ Cons

  • Doesn't support Tweaks and Mercantilism, so if you use that addon, you're out of luck.
  • The No-Fade tweak for Convenience Addon isn't included due to permission issues, so you might miss that feature.
  • Compatibility risk: since it rewrites the core quest script, it could conflict with other mods that modify the same script.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Spell Research users who run multiple addons and want them to play nice together without a pile of patches. If you only use one addon or none, you probably don't need this. Skip if you rely on Tweaks and Mercantilism or the Convenience Addon No-Fade tweak.
📦 Install:Medium· 5-10 minutes

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure you have the original Spell Research mod installed first, then add this patch and your chosen addons—load order should have this patch after all of them.
  • If you use Convenience Add-On, enable the No Fade option in the MCM if you want that behavior, but it's off by default for a reason.
  • For Skyrim Souls RE users, test the magicka bar update option for Spell Composing—it has a visual bug, so keep it disabled unless you can live with it.
