📋 About This Mod
Original LE mod created by Genebriss ported and reuploaded by me with their permission.
Description copied from original mod page:
When you are blocking with shield incoming magic damage will be decreased and you can change value of magic resist via Mod Configuration Menu (20% by default). Will combine with Elemental Protection perk.
How does it work
Mod doesn't change change anything. Adds a new perk, it's not displayed in perk tree. Perk will be added to your character after loading game. When you change the value of resistance in MCM, script will change this value in the perk.
This perk works just like Elemental Protection perk from Block perk tree, but it works for all kinds of magic.
Compatibility
Compatible with everything.

This SSE port of Genebriss's Shield protect from magic adds a hidden perk that reduces incoming magic damage while blocking with a shield, with resistance value adjustable via MCM (20% default). It stacks with the Elemental Protection perk and is compatible with everything. For Skyrim Special Edition players who want more defensive options without overhauling combat.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-tested port with 154 endorsements and nearly 10k downloads, so it's got a solid track record.
- Tunable via MCM—crank that magic resist up or down to fit your playstyle, no console commands needed.
- Stacks with Elemental Protection, so you can become a true magic tank.
- Works for all magic types, not just fire/frost/shock like the vanilla perk.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in June 2022, so it might be behind on the latest Skyrim SE patches or modding trends.
- The hidden perk approach means no visual feedback in the perk tree—you just have to trust it's working.
- Compatibility claims are broad, but any mod that alters blocking mechanics or perks could conflict; test with your setup.
For Skyrim SE players who want a straightforward defensive boost against mages without overhauling combat. If you're a sword-and-board warrior who hates getting fried by spells, this is for you. Skip if you prefer magic-focused builds or want more complex perk overhauls.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) and SkyUI installed for the MCM menu to work properly.
- After loading your save, the perk is added automatically—check your active effects to confirm it's active.
- If you're using a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, just download and install; load order shouldn't matter much, but keep it with other gameplay tweaks.
