📋 About This Mod
INTRODUCTIONVanilla Progression
You start a game. You play and improve some skills. Eventually you level up. You navigate to the stat menu where a pop-up awaits so you can micromanage distribute 10 points to one of three stats. Repeat.
Skill Based Stat Growth Progression
Stats grow as skills grow, organically and without user input (unless you wish to change the modifiers included in the INI).
The default settings are balanced around vanilla progression but without the need to select a stat at each level up. A character will arrive at near the same end result, if you were to split your selections evenly between the three stats. By level 81, you will actually have approximately 150 more HMS points and 220 more carry weight than vanilla. The offset settings in the MCM are intended to help balance this if one wishes to do so.
This mod is highly configurable (via INI and MCM) to provide faster stat growth, including carry weight, as skills develop. Or if you want more of a challenge, or concerned about becoming too overpowered too soon, it can be set to provide slower growth. Or if you feel gaining two-handed skill should improve magicka, or magicka should contribute to carry weight (as Eyre11 points out in the comments - Alteration could be used to "alter" your ability to carry more, so it could conceivably be linked to carry weight), whatever you choose, it is configurable.
Also provides a meager incentive to make a skill legendary. Resetting a skill via making it legendary will add +5 from the previous start (not including racial modifiers). In addition to refunding all spent perks, you will find an additional perk point as well.
FEATURES-
[]ESL-Flagged
[]Organic stat growth with just a single message in the stats menu to notify you of the gained level - no decision to make.
[]Highly customizable via INI and MCM to determine which skills contribute to which stats, and which stats to carry weight.
[]Bonus for making a skill legendary by starting skill +5 higher, and gaining an additional perk point in addition to the vanilla refund.
Base Changes
-
[]After making a skill legendary, it resets to 5 (instead of 15), but then gains +5 for each time it is made legendary (up to +25).
[
]Stats do not increase at level up. The provided interface changes just show a single pop-up alert to inform a level has been gained. - All stats have an Offset option in order to balance with your load order.
Roleplaying in Skyrim - Skill Based Stat Growth replaces the vanilla level-up stat menu with organic stat growth tied to skill increases. Stats like health, magicka, stamina, and carry weight grow automatically as you use skills, with highly configurable INI and MCM settings. It also adds a bonus for making skills legendary, including an extra perk point. Ideal for players who want a more immersive, hands-off progression system.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 261 endorsements and over 13k downloads.
- Fully customizable—you can tweak everything from growth rates to which skills affect which stats.
- Adds a nice incentive to go legendary with an extra perk point and a small stat boost.
⚠️ Cons
- The default settings give you more stats than vanilla, which might make the game easier than intended.
- Requires SkyUI for the MCM, so if you're not using that, you'll miss out on some config options.
- As with any mod that alters leveling, it may conflict with other overhaul mods that change skill progression or stat gains.
For Skyrim players who find the vanilla stat distribution menu tedious and want a more organic, roleplay-friendly progression. It's also great for those who love tweaking mod settings to fine-tune their experience. Skip if you prefer the classic manual point allocation or if you're using a different leveling overhaul that already handles stats.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have SkyUI installed and the MCM menu working, or you'll only be able to use the INI file for configuration.
- If you're worried about becoming overpowered, check the MCM offset settings to reduce the stat gains to your liking.
- Test the mod on a new character first to see how the stat growth feels before committing to a long playthrough.
