📋 About This Mod
Last updated 11/16/24
NordWarUA's awesome Sons of Skyrim mod adds a new version of the Iron Arrow. Because it shares the same name as the vanilla Iron Arrow, it results in two different types of arrow in your inventory that are called the same thing. To add a touch of variety, I've provided a few renaming options. That's it!
The new Iron Arrows from Sons of Skyrim have been renamed. You can pick from the following options:
-
[]Imperial Arrows
[
]Military Arrows[]Scavenged Arrows
[]Stormcloak Arrows
-
[]A light-flagged ESP plugin; or
[
]SkyPatcher .ini files with no plugin-
[]Standard version: ESP with ESL (light) flag
[
]SkyPatcher version: no plugin included or required, .ini files only-
[]Sons of Skyrim by NordWarUA (mandatory for all versions)
[
]SkyPatcher by Zzyxzz (for SkyPatcher version only)-
[]Sons of Skyrim SSE Civil War Patch by KEVLOL99
[
]Sons of Skyrim v2. 0 - My patches and fixes by Xtudo SE by Xtudo-
[]The standard (.esp) version of this mod changes the Sons of Skyrim Iron Arrows ammo and projectile entries, and so will conflict with any mod that changes those same entries
[
]The Anniversary Edition is listed as a requirement; frankly I haven't tested this with other versions than 1. 6. 1170 and I have no idea if it will work with anything older. If you try my mod on a previous version, please leave a comment in the Posts tab with your experience!Important notes:
[]Ensure that Sons of Skyrim is installed and enabled before installing this mod.
[]If you want to use the SkyPatcher version, ensure that it is also installed and enabled before installing this mod.
[*]This mod is safe to install and uninstall mid-playthrough. Note that if you previously had the .esp version installed and switch to the SkyPatcher version, the game will warn you that your plugin is missing, but no harm

This small utility mod renames the Iron Arrows added by Sons of Skyrim to prevent confusion with vanilla Iron Arrows. It's a simple quality-of-life fix for players using that armor mod. With 15 endorsements and recent updates, it's a niche but functional addition.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solves a real annoyance if you use Sons of Skyrim and keep mixing up arrow types.
- Lightweight and does exactly what it says—no bloat.
- Recently updated (Nov 2024), so it's likely compatible with current game versions.
⚠️ Cons
- Tiny niche mod—only 15 endorsements, so it's not widely tested.
- Only affects arrow names; if you expected more from Sons of Skyrim, this isn't it.
- Potential compatibility risk if Sons of Skyrim updates and changes arrow IDs.
For Skyrim players who use Sons of Skyrim and want to avoid inventory confusion between its Iron Arrows and vanilla ones. Skip if you don't use Sons of Skyrim or don't care about arrow naming.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure Sons of Skyrim is installed before this mod, or the rename won't apply.
- Use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2 to install and track load order easily.
- If you see vanilla Iron Arrows still, check that this mod loads after Sons of Skyrim.
