Destructible Skyrim - Base Object Swapper for DestructibleSkyrim integration
WIll you integrate other mod barrels, too?
Yes! Or rather I'd love to. I have already done so for my own use, but unlike kelretu's resources they generally
don't have open permissions.
Why do your screens suck so much?
I am still in the setup-step of my current modlist. Some texture mods are still missing and no ENB yet obviously.
I compensated with super cringy edits though, so thank me later.
I'd greatly appreciate if you upload your own screens, too. Or even better your vids, since most features can really only be shown in motion.
Future plans?
I really would like to have crates do the same.
Frickin' Half Life could do it, why can't we, Todd??
Destructible Skyrim F. A. Q.
Some objects are floating after I moved or destroyed a barrel?
Yea well that's a side effect of barrels being statics when the game originally was designed.
There are a few things you can do if this bothers you:
-
[]Exclude the area where this appears from the swap
[
]alter its the position in SSEdit or disable it[]change the barrel that is being replaced to new barrel ref that is always static
[]live with flying statics...spoooky
I suddenly have Skyrim's OG ugly clutter meshes back in my game, help?
Destructible Skyrim uses them. Clutter meshes need editing to support physics.
In theory replacers are fairly easy to patch, and I would offer them here, however it's generally a nightmare to get all
permissions from corresponding authors. For now you can either live with ugly vanilla meshes or hide/delete
Destructible Skyrim's SWAP.ini file and live with flying statics(see above).
Inappropriate F. A. Q.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community backing with 126 endorsements and over 6,000 downloads.
- Modular setup means you can pick and choose what you want, no bloat.
- Active development as of April 2025, so it's not abandoned.
⚠️ Cons
- Purely cosmetic – if you want gameplay changes, this isn't it.
- Modularity might require a bit of extra setup compared to a simple replacer.
- Potential conflicts with other mods that alter barrel textures or meshes.
For Skyrim players who want more detailed and varied barrels without overhauling the whole game. If you're a modder or enjoy tweaking your setup, the modular approach is a plus. Skip if you're looking for gameplay mechanics – this is purely visual.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2 to handle the modular files easily.
- Check the mod's file structure to see which options you want – you don't need everything.
- Place this mod after other texture overhauls in your load order to ensure it takes effect.
