Reading Improves Speech - USSEP Patch

The mod "Reading Improves Speech" by JugoLama allows your character to gain Speech experience when reading books for the first time. Unfortunately, all the changes made by the Unofficial Patch were not integrated into the mod. This patch forwards changes from USSEP so you can have all their fixes and your speech experience too.

The base patch between Reading Improves Speech (RIS) and USSEP comes in two versions:

• []The first forwards changes from USSEP version 4. 2. 5b, which is the last version compatible with Skyrim SE v1. 5. 97 (the version of Skyrim before the Anniversary Edition update).

  []The second forwards changes from USSEP version 4. 2. 7, which is the current version of the patch as of August 30, 2022. This file is meant to be used with Skyrim Special Edition v1. 6. 353 (Anniversary Edition). This file also adds speech experience to a few books added by AE.

  In addition to the base patch, an optional combined patch between RIS, USSEP, and Book Covers Skyrim (BCS) is available. This patch also has separate versions for Skyrim SE and AE. Note that the title naming conventions and book text from USSEP are retained in this patch. The changes made to titles and text in the original BCS mod are not forwarded.

  All files are ESP plugins flagged as an ESL, so they will not take up a space in your load order.

  As of version 1. 1. 0, this patch also attaches the speech experience script to several books that were omitted in the original mod. See the change log for specific titles. Also, all versions >1. 1. 0 are no longer dependent on USSEP as a master.

  Requirements:

  • []Reading Improves Speech

    []Book Covers Skyrim if using its optional patch.

  • Skyrim SE v1. 6. 353 (Anniversary Edition) if using the AE versions of the patches.

    Installation:

    Download and install the FOMOD installer with the mod manager of your choice. Select the options in the installer that apply to your game. The installer will automatically detect if the required plugins are present. After installation, ensure that the plugin from this mod loads AFTER Reading Improves Speech and USSEP (as well as Book Covers Skyrim, if applicable).

    Compatibility:

    This mod alters the records of various vanilla books. Other mods that alter the same records will not be compatible without a patch.

    If using the included patch for Book Covers Skyrim, do not use the BCS patch available on the original Reading Improves Speech mod page.

    The Language Pack for Books Covers Skyrim is not compatible.
