📋 About This Mod
Any mod which disables follower collision using PlayerTeammate is required as a base, such as I'm Walkin' Here (AE) or Disable Follower Collision (SE). Combined with that, this mod will disable collision for pets from Pets of Skyrim. (Without one of those mods, this file will just enable a few more Teammate options in dialogue for these pets.)
This mod edits the PetFramework_PetQuest script to set all pets as a PlayerTeammate when they are following. This is the condition the required mods use to disable collision.
This flag is set when you get the pets to Follow (and removed when they are Dismissed), so if any of them are your followers currently, you will need to dismiss them / send them home and then re-recruit them.
Note however that this change may cause pets to become a target for enemies when they were ignored before, presumably also due to the PlayerTeammate flag.
A better implementation may be found with I'm Walkin' Here NG with Pets, which edits the DLL directly to apply to pets, and therefore doesn't require the PlayerTeammate flag or any script edits, so go try that one out as well! (Not tested by me yet.)
Compatibility
Not Compatible with any other mods that edit the Pets of Skyrim script PetFramework_PetQuest.
This patch removes collision from Pets of Skyrim (Creation Club) pets, preventing them from blocking doorways and getting in the player's way. It requires a mod that disables follower collision as a base. With 739 endorsements and over 614k downloads, it's a popular quality-of-life fix for pet owners.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge community trust: 739 endorsements and over 614k downloads show this patch is widely used and appreciated
- Solves a real annoyance: pets no longer block doorways or crowd you in tight spaces
- Lightweight and focused: does exactly what it says without extra bloat
⚠️ Cons
- Requires a separate follower collision mod to work—if you don't have one, this patch won't do anything
- Last updated in 2022, so it may not be compatible with the latest Skyrim updates or newer CC content
- No detailed instructions or troubleshooting provided by the author, so you'll need to figure out load order yourself
For Skyrim players who use Creation Club pets and find them constantly getting in the way. If you already have a follower collision mod, this is a no-brainer addition. Skip if you don't use pets or don't mind them blocking your path.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have a follower collision mod installed first, like 'No Follower Collision' or similar, or this patch won't work.
- Place this patch after the Pets of Skyrim (CC) content in your load order to ensure it applies correctly.
- If you're using a mod manager, let it handle the load order automatically—just make sure the patch is active.
