📋 About This Mod
When you first enter the Palace of the Kings in Windhelm, Ulfric and Galmar have a scene discussing the Civil War. At one point they walk into the war room and lean on the table, one on each side. However, if you have mods that add a lot of sandboxing NPCs to the war room, such as Skyrim At War, one or both of the markers they're trying to use is usually already taken. This leads to a long, awkward pause as the scene can't continue until they're both leaning on the table.
This mod simply excludes those two idle markers from use by sandboxing NPCs to prevent them from clogging up the table and allow the scene to progress as intended. NPCs can still use the idle markers at the narrow ends of the table.
ESL-flagged and should be compatible with pretty much everything. Just make sure to load it before any lighting mods.
A small bug fix for Skyrim that prevents Ulfric and Galmar's opening scene from being interrupted by NPCs sandboxing in the Palace of the Kings. With 92 endorsements and over 10,000 downloads, it's a niche but appreciated fix for players who encounter this issue.

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved fix with 92 endorsements and over 10k downloads—clearly helps a lot of players.
- Solves a specific, annoying bug that can break an important story moment.
- Lightweight and focused—does exactly what it says without extra bloat.
⚠️ Cons
- Only addresses one specific scene, so if you're looking for broader bug fixes, this won't cover them.
- Last updated in 2021, so it might not be compatible with the latest Skyrim versions or mod setups.
- Potential conflicts with other mods that alter the Palace of the Kings or NPC behavior.
For Skyrim players who've had Ulfric and Galmar's scene glitch out due to NPC crowding. If you're a completionist or roleplayer who wants story moments to play out smoothly, this is a must-have. Skip if you never visit the Palace of the Kings or don't care about that scene.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're using a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, just download and install—it'll handle the file placement automatically.
- Make sure to load this mod after any mods that change the Palace of the Kings interior to avoid conflicts.
- Test the scene early in your playthrough to confirm the fix works with your other mods.
