Notification Control

Description

Notification Control lets you disable Skyrim’s on-screen notifications completely, or filter them with whitelist and blacklist keywords. It works at the DLL level and does not replace or edit hudmenu.swf, so it should remain compatible with custom HUD mods.

Supports Skyrim SE 1. 5. 97, AE 1. 6.x, and VR in one DLL.

Installation instructions

Install with your mod manager and enable the mod.

The config file is created here:

Data\SKSE\Plugins\NotificationControl.json

Main features

Disable all on-screen notifications

Strict / whitelist mode: show only selected messages

Normal / blacklist mode: hide only selected messages

Console commands for adding, removing, clearing, saving, and reloading filters

Case-insensitive substring matching

Multi-word keywords supported

Open the console with `~` and use:

Quick modes:

ncstrict - switch to strict / whitelist mode

ncnormal - switch to normal / blacklist mode

ncoff - disable filtering

Full commands:

nc mode strict - show ONLY what's in the whitelist, hide everything else

nc mode normal - show everything EXCEPT what's in the blacklist

nc mode off - disable the mod, everything shows (vanilla)

nc add wl tesfantom - add to whitelist

nc add bl tesfantom - add to blacklist

nc rem wl tesfantom - remove from whitelist

nc rem bl tesfantom - remove from blacklist

nc clear wl -  clear whitelist

nc clear bl - clear blacklist

nc clear all - clear both lists

nc status - show current mode and lists

nc save - save settings

nc reload - reload settings

nc last - show the last ~20 notifications with numbers (hidden ones are marked "(hidden)")

nc block <n> - block message #n entirely (exact text)

nc block <n> <words> - block by the first N words (for loot like "Iron Ore (5) added.")
