📋 About This Mod
zaczombies No Falling Leaves/Pine Needles Special Edition
~~~~~~Description~~~~~~
Using the Skyrim CK I disabled the camera effect that displays the falling Leaves whenever a tree is within view of the player.
I never understood why they would create a leaf with 64 animations and with a large detailed texture.
The purpose behind this mod? To remove the Leaves/Pine Needles no one ever looks at, reduce GPU/CPU usage and improve the games performance.
You might see a slight performance increase in mods such as:
The Autumn of Whiterun, Skyrim Flora overhaul, BetterRiften.
~~~~~~Requirements/Compatibility~~~~~~
This mod needs the latest update for Skyrim and it has been cleaned with TESSEEDIT. It should be compatible with nearly anything since it only turns off the leaves/pine needles art.
~~~~~~Manual Install~~~~~~
Install the mod into the Skyrim Data folder or use a mod manager program.
~~~~~~Usage~~~~~~
You may also use this mod in yours as well. I only ask that you give me credit for my work.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Performance boost without changing visuals you actually notice (477 endorsements)
- Tiny footprint, works with almost everything
- Author explicitly allows reuse in your own mods
⚠️ Cons
- Old mod (last updated 2016) might not be tested with latest Skyrim SE patches
- Performance gain is situational and may be negligible on modern hardware
- Removes a visual effect some players might enjoy in forest areas
For Skyrim SE players who want to squeeze out extra FPS, especially in forest-heavy areas or with flora overhauls. Skip if you're on a high-end rig and don't notice any stutter from falling leaves.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Use a mod manager like Vortex or Mod Organizer 2 to install and manage this mod easily.
- Place this mod early in your load order to ensure it doesn't conflict with other mods that might re-enable the effect.
- If you use Skyrim Flora Overhaul or similar, test in Riften or Falkreath to see the performance difference.
