Mysteria ReShade - Colorful fantasy preset for Community Shaders

Prelude: "The Pale Period" or "The Color Crisis"

As we all know, Skyrim released in November 2011. What only a few people know however is that during the late 2010 and the majority of 2011 there was a worldwide color shortage, known as "The Pale Period" or "The Color Crisis". This crisis emerged because during the end of 2010 Japan was producing 3 TV commercials at the same time, which sucked up all the world wide color available.

Skyrim unfortunately fell victim to that and because many assets were not finished before the Color Crisis, Bethesda had to make a choice and redo the whole artstyle. The few colors they had in stock needed to be distributed equally across all the remaining assets and those that were already finished had to be adapted to the pale look.

As a consequence from that world wide crisis, new international regulatories were agreed upon. Japan agreed to a voluntary self-regulatory rule that restricts them to produce not more than one TV commercial each 2 months. Further, video game manufacturers and other media companies in return have agreed to plan ahead and register their color needs many months or even a year in advance.

Thanks to that new situation I was able to soure quite a but of color during the last 3 years. It was an expensive and time consuming process but my dedication never vanished. Finally, after sacrificing years of my life I was able to source enough color to turn Skyrim into the vibrant and colorful fantasy game it was intended to be.
