Description

A replacer for the lava present in the game, with new meshes and textures. Replaces both the flowing lava and the lava present in the Aetherium Forge.

Looks more like real lava without being so realistic as to become boring looking. The mesh uses two layers to create an effect where the lava will cool and partially solidify at certain points where the base mesh would just show black lava, this upper layer has a normal map to add to the effect. I've also made it so the circular lava pools in the forge no longer mysteriously flow in place but instead look as if the lava is being churned by some Dwemer mechanism beneath the surface.

The lava behind the Aetherium Forge, the lava actually in the forge itself, and the lava present in the Deadlands from The Cause creation are covered by this mod, let me know if I've missed any lava elsewhere. The lava pouring down into the forge is bugged when I test it, but I think it's just my load order - I'd appreciate people testing it and letting me know if it looks right in your game, it's in the optional files.

Available in 4K and 2K (and 8K but it's overkill and I recommend against it). Also includes an optional download that simply replaces the base game lava texture with no mesh changes and extra textures.

Open permissions, feel free to use or modify the contents of this mod in your own mods, just credit me. If I ever get round to it I'll hopefully make a small tileset based on this mod to be used as a modder's resource.

Compatability

Hot Lava - Heat Distortion - Incompatible, however this mod adds heat distortion to the spinny forge mesh, the flat lava meshes have heat distortion placed around them in-game by default.

The Tools of Kagrenac - Compatible out the box, ToK uses the same default meshes that Luxury Lava replaces.
