📋 About This Mod
Don't know what else to say. They're just face presets (a bundle of .jslot files, to be exact). Simply drag and drop them or move the files to your Data/SKSE/plugins/Chargen/Preset folder.
Note that some of the presets are made with these custom new textures in mind (except for Alistair's, made with these textures instead). Idk if anyone uses my Faceparts Addon but I just wanted to showcase how to use the new textures in a Racemenu preset, so to speak. If you don't have that mod, the game will just use the default CotR textures, so it's not a hard requirement.
(edit: compatible with DamiLovesSunflowers' High Poly CotR. I didn't move a single vertices on the sculpt window, all modifications are done with sliders).
Mods used in creating the presets (again, not a hard requirement--if you don't have any listed below, the game will just swap it for something else):
SC - KS Hairdos Retextured
BnP Eye Overhaul (optional files: BnP - More eyes 1k (COR)
Skin Feature Overlays
Dragon Age Dalish Vallaslin (I refitted some to fit CotR's face for my personal use)
CotR Facepart Addons.
Alistair face preset (for his preset only--textures will work for SE, or just use CAO if you're not sure.)
^ If you want them to not be replacers, grab my Facepart Addons, then grab those textures. Rename the two textures included from malehead.dds and malehead_msn.dds to malehead_0013.dds and malehead_msn_0012.dds respectively, then put them in Data/textures/!COR_Male/Head.
If you want them to look exactly like in the screenshots, I humbly suggest you grab Facepart Addons + Skin Feature Overlays first. They don't look right without their intended textures and freckles/birtmarks, imo.
The only hard requirement is Charmers of the Reach. And Racemenu, duh.
Useless backstory regarding the presets:
1. Alistair: Basically just Alistair from Dragon Age: Origins, lol. Tried to marry his DAO and DAI looks (WHY would Bioware make him a strawberry blonde boy in DAI, I have no idea. Brown hair Alistair 4 lyfe)
2. Kjerin: My non-dragonborn Voice-wielder lady.
3. Karura: Me.
4. Felanir: A recreation of my Dalish elf Morrigan-mancing Grey Warden.
5. Serana: My personal replacer for Serana. Tried to reimagine her as a more mature, sickly, slightly unnerving-looking vampire. Might make it into a proper replacer in the future, might not.
6. Fanris: My dragonborn. Side note: while technically a Bosmer (well, Bosmer/Bosmer/Breton to be oddly specific), I made his preset with a humanoid CotR race in mind. If you apply it on an elven race, his ears will become REALLY pointy. Adjust when necessary.
Questions someone will probably ask in the future:
Bodyslide presets? None. They're face presets only.
Karura's Random CotR Face Presets adds a collection of Racemenu presets for Charmers of the Reach, designed to work with the author's CotR Facepart Addons but usable standalone. With 72 endorsements and 7,104 downloads, it's a niche cosmetic mod for Skyrim players wanting quick face variety.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Decent download count (7,104) shows people are grabbing it.
- Works standalone, so you don't need the addons to use the presets.
- Lightweight cosmetic addition—no gameplay changes, just new faces.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 72 endorsements, so it's a niche mod with a small but dedicated following.
- Last updated in August 2023, so it might not be compatible with the latest Skyrim versions or mod setups.
- Presets are tied to Charmers of the Reach, so if you don't use that mod, this is useless.
For Skyrim players who use Charmers of the Reach and want quick, varied face presets without fiddling with sliders. If you're into character creation and want more options, this is a nice grab. Skip if you don't use CotR or want gameplay changes—this is purely cosmetic.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have Racemenu installed and load this mod after it so the presets show up.
- If you use the CotR Facepart Addons, load them before this mod to get the intended look.
- Preview presets in the Racemenu sculpt tab to see which ones you like before committing.
