📋 About This Mod
Here's a 2K retexture I made for the SMIM archery targets. Should make for a nicer experience when swiping those Solitude guards' arrows :)
SMIM isn't actually required as this mod includes the necessary meshes, which have been edited slightly to make the target tripods look better.
Thanks to luxor8071 and his mod Practice Dummies HD for giving me the idea to make this mod, I recommend you use it. Also thanks to Wenderer for the FOMOD Creation Tool and Elianora for the tutorial on how to fix glossiness issues with meshes.
Tools used: Paint. NET, Photoshop and NifSkope.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge download count (764k+) and solid endorsements (1,652) — this is a proven, popular texture upgrade.
- 2K textures give archery targets a crisp, detailed look without a big performance hit.
- Simple and focused: does exactly what it says, no bloat or extra files.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2018 — might not be patched for the latest Skyrim versions, though texture mods are usually fine.
- Requires SMIM, so you need to install that first if you don't have it.
- Only affects archery targets — if you want other SMIM retextures, you'll need to grab more mods.
For Skyrim players who use SMIM and want their archery targets to look sharper and more detailed. Perfect for those who appreciate high-res textures but don't want a full overhaul. Skip if you don't use SMIM or if you're fine with vanilla targets.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure SMIM is installed first, then drop this mod's files into your Data folder or use a mod manager.
- If you're using a mod manager, load this after SMIM to ensure the textures overwrite correctly.
- Since it's a texture-only mod, it's safe to add or remove mid-playthrough, but always keep a backup of your save just in case.
