Features:
-
[]50% boost to stave-cast spells.
[
]Up to 2x scaling for spells (on top of staff boost).[]1. 5x sneak damage for all destruction spells.
Compatibility:
Mods adding new spells will work if their magic effects use the vanilla keywords.
Mods adding new staffs will work if their magic effects use the vanilla keywords.
Mods changing the textures and meshes of staffs are compatible.
Any mods that remove vanilla magic effect keywords (there shouldn't be any mods that do this, so I think we're good).
Known Issues:
Because I tried to make this initial release as uninvasive as possible, some staff-cast spells are not effected due to their magic effects not having any vanilla keywords for my perks to latch onto (such as Soul Trap). Might fix this in a later update.
Some vanilla spells, like Oakflesh, are not affected. This is intentional since it makes some of the lower tier spells as good as Dragonhide.
Some spells will not show a difference in magnitude/duration in menu due to them using static values instead of <mag>/<dur> (specifically Wall of Flame/Frost/Shock type spells are effected by this). Spells affected by this usually need the static value to show the correct information, due to how the spell was designed. Might not be fixable.
How It Works:
This mod uses a simple script to inject perks that control scaling properties.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 309 endorsements and nearly 9k downloads.
- Makes staves actually worth using with a flat 50% damage boost.
- Scaling up to 2x means destruction magic stays relevant late game.
⚠️ Cons
- Not all staff-cast spells are affected—Soul Trap and similar effects lack vanilla keywords.
- Some spells like Oakflesh are intentionally left out to avoid making lower-tier spells too strong.
- Certain spells (Wall of Flame/Frost/Shock) won't show magnitude changes in the menu due to static values.
For Skyrim mages who want destruction magic to scale into the late game without overhauling the entire magic system. Also great for players who love using staves but feel they're underpowered. Skip if you're looking for new spells or a complete magic rework—this only tweaks existing mechanics.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Use a mod manager like NMM or Vortex to install—it's a simple drop-in, but a manager keeps your load order clean.
- If you use other magic overhauls, check that they don't remove vanilla keywords, or this mod's perks won't apply.
- Test with a staff and a destruction spell to see the damage difference—some effects won't show in the menu but will work in combat.
