📋 About This Mod
DESCRIPTION
This mod changes how crossbows work in Skyrim VR. They are no longer automatically reloaded with a flying bolt and self pulling lever which was not immersive. They are now how it should be for a VR game.
Compatible with all vanilla and cc and custom crossbows as long as the parts aren't static.
How to use crossbows now:
- Make sure you have a crossbow equipped in your hand and have a bolt equipped like normal.
- Hold the crossbow cocking lever with your secondary hand trigger button and pull it until the string is locked.
- Put your secondary hand to your lower back to the side to grab a bolt with trigger, press and hold trigger, keep holding it.
- Bring your hand over to the crossbow's bolt loading section and release the trigger to put the bolt.
- If both lever is pulled and bolt is loaded, you can do either one first, it's now ready to fire.

REQUIREMENTS
- Instant Equip VR
If you are using VRIK, make sure you have the latest version (0. 8. 4 or later). Older versions are not compatible. The mod wouldn't work.
If you are using HIGGS, I recommend using the latest version (1. 10. 5 or later). Older versions do not have twohanding setting added.
Do not holster crossbows on VRIK leg holsters! VRIK has a bug that causes crossbows to bug out and show the bolts incorrectly etc. This is not an issue related to this mod, just that with this mod, people have started to use crossbows and caused them to notice this more.
CONFIGURATION
This mod can be configured from ImmersiveCrossbowReloadVR.ini file. It has comments explaining what each setting does.
You can change Bolt grabbing and Lever pulling buttons separately to something other than Trigger if you want, you can change quiver grab radius or bolt insert radius etc. Everything is adjustable from the config.
This mod supports all crossbows as long as their type is defined in the config. It has an automatic detection system for crossbows that are similar but not specifically defined, based on their nodes.
For mods that have the required nodes but have meshes that are not animatable, ModsToIgnore setting can be used to define esp files that will be ignored by this mod such as rifles, guns etc. Those weapons act like before.
If you have a hard time reaching the bolt from your lower back, you can adjust these parameters in the config file:
