Supports natural lighting
I removed vertex colors (artificial mesh coloring) in favor of natural skyrim's lighting and texture based colors.
When using vertex colors, it will have improved color detail however at the cost of ignoring shaders and lighting. Many locations that include the same mesh will often show snow appearing dark and weirdly colored.
Support for Complex Parallax / Complex Material and improved Environment Map
I've implemented a simple system for supported ice retextures (including my own releases) that adds support for complex parallax and complex material through different environment maps like ENV_G / ENV_I / ENV_FM / ENV_IW / ENV_LS. The implementation of these shading techniques can be found either with retextures or in the optional files Icy Mesh Remaster - Complex Parallax Addon.
Remodelled meshes
Most of the meshes have been improved by modelling their appearence with somewhat higher polycount in order to add more detail and reduce shadow conflicts from low polygon meshes. The meshes are made in mind to have a balanced tradeoff between improving rendering accuracy and performance.
Additionally more accurate collisions have also been added.
IcyFixes plugin
This plugin contains various important fixes and improvements:
- The worldspace changes correct the appearences of certain locations that are not using snow variants of ice objects in a place where everything else around them is using snow.
- Static records have been changed to not use snow flags in order to allow for specularity to work.
- With BOS mod, it adds icicles in Windhelm that have glacier textures.
- It adds LOD support for many ice records that never had any meshes previously.
- It provides a tweaked snow shader to make it more sparse and reduce the snow stretching effect.
- Contains consistent and updated Object Bounds for all statics. It also fixes numerous statics that did not have it properly calculated
- Compatible with USSEP and SLaWF mods.
