📋 About This Mod

Have you ever wished a single mod combined modern head, hair, mouth, and eye mesh improvements and re-generated all NPC faces for you? Well, this mod does just that. It covers every NPC in the game, including beast races, with just enough glow up to keep them from sticking out like sore thumbs alongside fancier replacers or to provide a complete "vanilla plus" look.

FEATURES

  • []ESL-flagged plugin will not take up a spot in your load order.[/]

[]Faces generated using High Poly Head and Expressive Facegen Morphs.[/]

[]Uses performance-friendly non-physics hair from High Poly Hair and Vanilla Hair Remake.[/]

[]Incorporates Eyes Nouveaux for high-quality textures, tinted lashes, and comprehensive eye mesh improvements.[/]

[]Maintained or improved consistency between NPCs and hair/complexion. Old Orc is now old, for example.[/]

[]Greatly reduced frequency of the "no eyebrow" look. Most NPCs have eyebrows.[/]

[]Select use of Beards of Power to accent unique NPCs like the Graybeards.[/]

[]All Bosmer have antlers for that ESO-style and to distinguish them a bit from other elves.[/]

[]Orc brow horns are off-white instead of matching the skin tone.[/]

[]Demon eyes reserved for Dremora, Daedric Princes, and a few high level enemy mages.[/]

[]Meshes are packed into an archive so they can be easily overwritten by fancier NPC replacers.[/]

[]Playable bald "hair" as a bonus. Free! Great value![/]

[]Tintmasks provided as an optional file. Generated with a custom tintmask blend and reduced opacity of dirt and heavier makeup for a more natural aesthetic. It's still based on vanilla so don't expect miracles. No requirements; can be used independently of the main file.[/]

CONSISTENCY PATCHES AVAILABLE UNDER MISC FILES

Familiar Faces is a comprehensive NPC overhaul for Skyrim that regenerates every NPC's face using High Poly Head, Expressive Facegen Morphs, and improved meshes for hair, eyes, and mouths. It aims for a 'vanilla plus' look, with optional tintmasks and consistency patches for several quest mods. The ESL-flagged plugin saves load order space.

✨ Key Features

Covers every NPC in the game, including beast races, with regenerated faces.
Uses High Poly Head and Expressive Facegen Morphs for face generation.
Incorporates Eyes Nouveaux for high-quality textures and eye mesh improvements.
All Bosmer have antlers, and Orc brow horns are off-white for distinction.
ESL-flagged plugin does not take up a load order slot.
Optional tintmask file with reduced opacity for a more natural aesthetic.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community-approved with 96 endorsements and over 12k downloads.
  • Performance-friendly non-physics hair keeps the game running smooth.
  • Includes consistency patches for popular quest mods like Project AHO and Skyrim Extended Cut.

⚠️ Cons

  • Only 96 endorsements suggests a smaller user base compared to bigger overhauls.
  • Might conflict with other NPC overhauls if not overwritten properly, though meshes are packed for easy overwrite.
  • Tintmasks are optional and based on vanilla, so don't expect drastic changes to makeup or dirt.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who want a comprehensive NPC face-lift without straying too far from vanilla aesthetics. It's perfect for those who want consistent, improved faces across all NPCs, including beast races, without the hassle of multiple mods. Skip if you prefer heavy stylization or physics-based hair.
📦 Install:Easy· 5-10 minutes

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since the mod is ESL-flagged, it won't count toward your load order limit, but still place it after other NPC overhauls to ensure overwrites.
  • If you use the optional tintmask file, install it after the main mod to apply the natural look.
  • Check the mod page for consistency patches if you use any of the listed quest mods.
