Overview
Falk Firebeard is one of Skyrim’s most underutilized political characters. As steward to Solitude, he sees everything—but rarely reacts to the player beyond generic lines. Courtologue Add-On changes that.
Falk’s dialogue now evolves naturally as you progress through key Solitude milestones:
He begins busy, curt, and guarded and grows appreciative as you prove reliable. Eventually treats you as a trusted confidant of the court. Once trust is established, Falk opens up. He now vents, complains, and confides about the residents of Solitude… and even Elisif herself.
All dialogue is written to feel like it belongs in the game: restrained, dry, political, and quietly personal.
PHASE 1 SHOWCASE

Dialogue Progression
Falk’s greets and farewells are divided into distinct phases, unlocked organically:
Phase 1 – The Busy Steward
Default state
Falk is distracted, formal, and focused on administration
Treats the player as another obligation
No warmth, no patience, no time
Phase 2 – Proven Asset
Unlocked after: The Man Who Cried Wolf (First Potema Quest)
Falk begins to:
Acknowledge your competence
Show guarded appreciation
Speak with less formality and more honesty
Phase 3 – Trusted ConfidantUnlocked after:
Becoming Thane of Haafingar
At this stage, Falk:
Treats you as a trusted ally of Solitude
Confides frustrations about specific citizens
Uses humor, weariness, and political insight
Speaks to you as someone inside the court, not outside it
This is where Falk becomes fully human.
Phase 4 - Elisif Drives me nuts
The Wolf Queen Awakened (Second Potema Quest)
Complains (quietly and affectionately) about Elisif

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community backing with 197 endorsements and over 5,400 downloads.
- Handcrafted lines mean quality over quantity—440 lines is a substantial addition.
- ESPFE format keeps your load order clean and avoids plugin limit issues.
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects Falk Firebeard, so if you don't interact with him often, the impact is limited.
- Dialogue changes are tied to your actions, so you might not see all 440 lines in a single playthrough.
- Compatibility risk with other mods that alter Falk Firebeard's dialogue or AI packages.
For Skyrim players who love deep roleplay and want NPCs to react to their deeds. If you spend time in Solitude and talk to Falk regularly, this adds a fresh layer. Skip if you prefer gameplay over dialogue or rarely visit Solitude.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's an ESPFE, you can safely place it anywhere in your load order, but keep it after mods that overhaul Solitude.
- If you use a mod manager, let it handle the ESPFE flagging—don't manually rename the file.
- Check if you have other dialogue expansion mods for Solitude NPCs to avoid overlapping lines.
