Description

Farengar the esteemed Whiterun mage is a collector of ancient artifacts and books which can be found in his library. One such artifact Is an ancient Dwemer tome and a broken teleportation orb. The text is written in the language and font of the Dwemer and of something else. If you can solve the puzzle in this quest and unearth the secrets you will gain the ancient Dwemer tonal power of teleportation and a new unique Mage centric player home. To start this adventure find Farengar's translated work on the ancient Dwemer book "The Practice of Teleportation" which can be found in his library.

Hint

The book on Farengar's desk titled "The Practice of Teleportation" is translated correctly except for the word in Falmer script. This means you are looking for some sort of ancient dwarven power source (this is mentioned in the book). If you are still stuck then go to the ruins that the tome and orb came from. The book details which ruin you need to go to. In those ruins somewhere in the living quarters on a bench in a forgotten courtyard you will find an ancient letter to a Falmer woman which will give you your next hint.

The Dwemer cities were largely isolated and operated more as independent city states although they would unite for common goals. As a young man, Ruthcard, a prospective mage's apprentice from Morrowind, visited Skyrim with his master Kagrenac. It was a great honor for Ruthcard to study under Kagrenac who was a highly esteemed Tonal Architect (Mage) and was on the fast track to become the Chief Tonal Architect. They traveled to each Dwarven city learning the latest tonal architectural applications, but while they were in Nchuand-Zel, Ruthcard fell in love with a Falmer servant named Celadoor. Celadoor was a servant that served respected new arrivals and foreigners and she was frequently used to translate the common tongue. Although most Falmer by this time were blind, misshapen, and used for brute labor, a very small select few were allowed to abstain from eating the Blackreach mushroom, and lived as personal servants to esteemed Dwarves.
