📋 About This Mod
Assassin of Old Remastered
- An Immersive Vanilla Bug Fix -
Description
By vanilla you will get a quest to find "The Assassin of Old" which is a 1000+ year old assassin found in a Nordic Ruin. When you find him he looks like a Nord man who died yesterday. After looking in the Creation Kit it looks like Bethesda intended to make him a skeleton but likely it was too much time and money to implement. That stated, I decided to go in and fix this visual inconsistent and un-immersive bug myself remastering the Assassin of Old to look the part. Additionally the mod is also flagged ESL.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge community trust: 1,011 endorsements and nearly a million downloads show this fix is widely appreciated.
- Tackles a real lore-breaking bug that bothers immersion players.
- Simple and lightweight—no extra assets or scripts to worry about.
⚠️ Cons
- Description is cut off, so exact changes aren't fully detailed—you'll have to check in-game.
- Only fixes one NPC; if you're looking for broader immersion overhauls, this is a niche fix.
- Last updated in April 2025—might not be compatible with future Skyrim updates, though it's likely fine for now.
For Skyrim players who care about lore consistency and can't stand a 1000-year-old assassin looking like he died yesterday. If you're a completionist who notices these details, this is a must-have. Skip if you want gameplay changes—this is purely a visual/lore fix.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Install with your mod manager of choice—it's a simple ESP, so just activate it and you're good.
- Load order doesn't matter much, but place it after any mods that alter the same NPC to ensure the fix applies.
- If you're using a mod that changes the Assassin of Old's appearance, this fix might conflict—check for compatibility patches.
