📋 About This Mod
Dynamic Armor Physics makes every actor's body react realistically to the armor being worn by automatically adjusting both its physical weight and the sounds it produces on ragdoll impact.
It works on the player and every NPC, of any race, including races and characters added by other mods, without requiring a single patch. As long as an actor is wearing armor, it will be detected and handled automatically.
Gone are the days when every ragdoll hit sounded like someone dropping an old wheel of cheese onto a stone floor, whether they wore iron plate or a loincloth. Dynamic Armor Physics simply reuses Skyrim's existing library of armor impact sounds, selecting the ones that best match the equipment actually being worn. No new sound assets, just smarter use of what's already there.

The idea of adjusting body weight based on equipped armor already existed in a rough, unfinished form inside Sanguine Symphony, buried among its many other features. I decided to take that concept, rebuild it properly, improve it and turn it into its own dedicated mod, with a full material system added on top.

[]Four adjustable material settings: unarmored, clothing, light armor and heavy armor.[/]
[]Works on the player and all NPCs, of any race, with zero patching required.[/]
[]Updates instantly whenever armor is equipped, removed, or an actor dies.[/]
[]Optional MCM menu through a separate, independent plugin.[/]
[]Fully configurable through the INI file as well, no MCM required.[/]
[]Settings persist automatically and are not tied to your save file.[/]
Whenever an actor equips or removes a piece of armor, or dies, the mod automatically evaluates what is currently covering each body part and selects the most appropriate equipment for that area. If multiple layers are present, priority is given to heavy armor, then light armor, then clothing, and finally bare skin.
Using your configured settings, it adjusts the physical weight of each body part so that heavily armored limbs behave heavier than lightly armored or unarmored
Dynamic Armor Physics by Seb263 enhances immersion by making bodies react realistically to worn armor, adjusting ragdoll weight and impact sounds in real time. It works with all actors, races, and modded content without requiring patches, making it a versatile addition for players seeking more physical realism.

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 629 endorsements and over 18k downloads.
- No patch requirements means it plays nice with your mod list out of the box.
- Real-time physics tweaks add a layer of immersion you didn't know you needed.
⚠️ Cons
- May cause unexpected behavior with custom armor mods that alter weight values.
- Performance impact on older systems due to real-time physics calculations.
- Potential conflicts with other physics overhaul mods that modify ragdoll behavior.
For immersion junkies who want every clank and thud to feel weighty. If you're tired of ragdolls floating like paper, this is your fix. Skip if you prefer simple cosmetic mods—this changes how the game feels, not just looks.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Test with a variety of armor types to see the weight differences in action.
- If you use other physics mods, load Dynamic Armor Physics after them to avoid conflicts.
- Check your FPS after installing; if it dips, consider disabling for large battles.
