📋 About This Mod
dMenu is a simple menu I hacked together over a weekend that I intended to be a simple replacer for the AIM. Gradually I added more stuff to it such as changing time and weather(not knowing better mods such as KreatE already exists). Currently I'm also using it as a hub for tweaking my SKSE plugin's settings. I wish to add more features to it in the future, but it's already in a good state to be useful to some players.
How to Open
press "Home" button to open the menu while in game.
Weather/Time edit
You can easily edit time and weather using this mod. (Note: you need Native EditorID Fix for the weather names to properly show up. )
Yet another AIM
Search for mods and add items from mods to your inventory. Biggest difference between dMenu and other AIMs is that it's very quick. Searching items, looking at plugins, adding items to inventory is instant.
Yet another MCM
dMenu embeds a simple alternative to MCM that mod authors(primarily myself) can use. For mods that requires frequent tweaking(e.g. GUI mods) and instant feedback, this can be useful. I will document how to use it soon for people interested.
Multi-Lingual support
If you use language that requires special font files, navigate to dMenu\SKSE\Plugins\dmenu\fonts. Open fontConfig.ini and change the "font = English" to your own language(for example, if I use Korean fonts, chagne that to "font = Korean"). Then put a .ttf or .ttc font file into the corresponding font folder.
This project is very poorly designed so the code base is a bit of spaghetti(for example one file being 2000 lines long, messed-up naming conventions etc). I wouldn't suggest referencing it for a GUI SKSE plugin. Instead I suggest checking out this for proper ImGui reference.
MaxSu's detection meter sourcecode that allows me to set up the imGUI thing quickly
dMenu is a lightweight imGui-based utility menu for modding enthusiasts, offering a simple interface to manage various game tweaks. With over 9,000 endorsements and 1.8 million downloads, it's a popular choice for players seeking a straightforward all-in-one menu. Last updated in August 2023, it remains a reliable tool for those who want quick access to common modding features.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Massive community approval – 9,179 endorsements and 1.8M downloads show it's a go-to for many players
- Simple imGui menu means it's easy to use and integrates well with other mods
- Still updated as of 2023, so it's not abandoned
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated over a year ago – could have compatibility issues with newer game versions
For modders who want a handy in-game menu to tweak settings without alt-tabbing. If you're looking for a specific feature, you might be disappointed by the lack of details – but if you trust the community's endorsement, it's worth a shot. Skip if you need a menu with clear, documented features.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's an imGui menu, make sure you have the necessary framework installed (like imGui) – check the mod's files for any dependencies.
- If you're using a mod manager, try installing it manually first to see if it works without extra setup.
- Look for a config file or in-game keybind to open the menu – often it's a simple key like Insert or Home.
