Charming Children - Simple Kidmer Revamped

Skyrim's potato-faced children are infamous, and for those of us that enjoy the "Vanilla Plus" experience, Simple Children is a great addition to any load order & one I've personally used for quite a while. In my opinion, it does a great job of overhauling the game's kids without looking over the top if you're trying to retain Skyrim's innate charm but don't want to adopt a misshapen bobblehead. Additionally, Kidmer is a great mod to help further boost your immersion by diversifying Skyrim's youth. Even though Simple Children already has a patch for Kidmer, I wanted to have a go at giving the kids a makeover in my own style alongside updated textures that complement my preferred replacer, Tempered Skins.

This mod works as an .esp replacer for Kidmer & its files should be loaded AFTER both required mods to ensure no visual bugs occur. I've also included an optional texture replacer that will overwrite Simple Children's different complexions so all your kiddos look cohesive. Shout out to Kidhedera for granting me permission to use their work as a base!

Any & all Donation Points earned from this mod will go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to support children with critical illnesses. I've never accepted Donation Points for any of my earlier mods, but after several people asked if they can support my mod-making with tips & such, I had the idea to use this Nexus feature for the greater good. I had a lot of health struggles as a child, but was lucky enough to recover because my ailments were treatable & my parents were capable of getting me help. At one of my previous jobs, we collaborated with Make-A-Wish a few times & they do really amazing work.

RECOMMENDATIONS

RUSTIC CHILDREN by Gamwich

- The textures included in this mod were intended to color-match those of this great replacer made by the incredible Gamwich. You might notice slightly mismatched skin tones for hands & faces if you use a different texture replacer.

USSEP Infinite Loading Screen Fix by marvelous

- If you use USSEP, make sure to download this mod to avoid a minor bug related to Aventus Aretino's questline that can cause CTD when using Simple Children. If you also happen to use AI Overhaul SSE, use THIS version of the fix instead provided by mattski123.

Natural Eyes by nevenbridge

- An oldie but a goodie when it comes to eye texture replacers. I use the alternate file for elves in the screenshots & as you can see, they look great!

Mystic Eyes by Novelyst

- Personally, I use Natural Eyes for elves in combination with this mod's retexture for orcs. I love the unique pupil design!
