📋 About This Mod
Blackthorn Fishing Spots Patch
I'm a huge fan of Blackthorn, but it's an older mod, and someone mentioned to me the other day that they wished it had some places to fish. So I made some.
What this mod does:
- Creates a permanent fishing spot on the riverbank east of Blackthorn town
- Once the dock is built, places a fishing spot and some clutter items (fishing rod, cleaning table, etc) on it
- Gives each fishing spot a follower and dog marker so your vanilla followers can comment on your fishing while your pet watches
- Optionally provides a discoverable map marker for the fishing spot on the dock, which includes integration into CoMap
What this mod doesn't do:
- Edit navmesh
- Edit the Blackthorn items or mechanics in any way
- Edit any CC fishing quests or locations
- Add any new fish, fishing dialogue, quests, or items
Requirements:
- CC fishing
- Blackthorn
- CoMap, if you want your fishing map marker to be a fish
- BEES if you are on an older version of Skyrim to handle the modern ESL format
Recommended Mods:
Simple Fishing Overhaul - Animations and Improved Quest Dialogue
Streamlined Fishing
Immersive Fishing at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community
Thanks and Gratitude
to Ld50365 for their amazing Blackthorn - A Buildable Town in The Rift (SE)
to Jelidity for the great CoMAP - Common Marker Addon Project and their easy to use Comap json builder
to Bethesda for such an immersive and fun to customize game ❤️
A small patch that adds two fishing spots near Blackthorn, the buildable town in Starfield. One is on the dock and the other on the riverbank. With 59 endorsements and 39,011 downloads, it's a niche addition for players who want more fishing opportunities in that area.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tidy little patch that slots right into your load order without fuss.
- Decent download count (39k) shows folks are grabbing it for their playthroughs.
- Fills a real gap if you're building up Blackthorn and want to fish without trekking elsewhere.
⚠️ Cons
- Endorsement ratio is low (59) compared to downloads, so it might not be a must-have for everyone.
- Only two spots added—if you were hoping for a full fishing overhaul, this isn't it.
- Being a patch, it could conflict with other mods that alter Blackthorn's landscape or water.
For Starfield builders who've invested in Blackthorn and want a quick fishing convenience without leaving the settlement. Also good for role-players who like their character to have a peaceful hobby. Skip if you're looking for major gameplay changes or a comprehensive fishing mod.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a patch, place it after any mods that modify Blackthorn's layout to avoid overwriting changes.
- If you're using a mod manager, let it handle the file placement to keep your load order clean.
- Check the mod's page for any specific load order instructions from the author.
