Blackfyre is a craftable, temperable sword mod for Skyrim Special Edition, featuring Feanor4's interpretation of the Targaryen blade from House of the Dragon. It includes a ruby pommel, Damascus-inspired blade texture, and comes in 4K and 2K versions with a light plugin. Requires Daedric smithing to craft.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Feanor4's design is a fresh take on Blackfyre, blending show and book details with a Damascus steel look that stands out.
- Craftable and temperable means you can actually use it in a playthrough without cheating it in.
- Light plugin and 4K/2K options make it friendly for performance and load order.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 45 endorsements, so it's a niche pick—might not have the polish of more popular weapon mods.
- Requires Daedric smithing, so low-level characters can't use it early without grinding smithing.
- Compatibility risk with other mods that alter the Daedric smithing perk or add similar weapons.
For Game of Thrones fans who want a lore-friendly Blackfyre in Skyrim, especially those who like crafting their own gear. If you're a completionist collecting iconic weapons, this is a solid addition. Skip if you want a lore-accurate replica—this is an interpretation, not a 1:1 copy.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a light plugin, you can safely add it mid-playthrough without worrying about load order conflicts.
- If you're not at Daedric smithing level yet, use the console command 'player.additem' to get it early for testing.
- Check out the 'See Also' Darksister mod to pair both Targaryen blades for a complete set.
