The Light Sword is made by Meridia and forged out of pure light and ancient gold, the gold is formed to represent the underlings of Meridia helping the light find it's way into the darkest enemies hearts, the sword has the same values as the vanilla Dawnbreaker tho it is a 2-H version so it has more basic damage than the one-handed version.
You could have the opinion this Sword isn't lore-friendly, but honestly how lore-friendly is Dawnbreaker then? This sword looks like it is truly a slayer of the undead and other abominations, truely a weapon for a champion of Meridia.
This Sword does not replace the Vanilla Dawnbreaker, it can be found in the same room you encounter Dawnbreaker dew to its high collision area the weapon can be easily pushed away when out of inventory (on floor for example) that's why it won't be at its usual place but still in the same room, impossible to oversee.
