📋 About This Mod
COMPATIBILITY PATCHES
By following the SkyRealism’s (part of Cathedral Armory) instructions, compatibility patches has been done:
for Comprehensive Sleeves Pack SE,
for Ebony Armor Male Neck Gap Fix,
for Practical Female Armors SE, and
for Practical Female Blades Armor.
TWEAK
Darker Orcish Armor
Changes the Environment Map Scale value of Cathedral Armory’s Orcish Armor to 1 instead of 2.
The result is that the armour is darker, though perhaps not as reflective. This, to the author, is beneficial since he found the Cathedral’s Orcish Armor to be too bright.
The final appearance may not be accurately represented by the comparison images shown as it depends on the graphical mods used with the tweak. The comparison images are those of a vanilla setup with only Darker Orcish Armor, and the mods entailed by it, installed.
This tweak extends to Practical Female Armors.
It is partly done also because the value of 1 is according to SkyRealism’s (part of Cathedral Armory) instructions for making compatibility patches. Whether or not the value of 2 for the armour is an exception to the rule is unknown.
As such, it is ultimately a matter of preference: the decision on whether or not to use this tweak should be left to the end user.

FOMOD Creation Tool and
Arvyn's Cathedral Armory Compatibility Patches and Tweak provides compatibility patches for four popular armor mods (Comprehensive Sleeves Pack SE, Ebony Armor Male Neck Gap Fix, Practical Female Armors SE, and Practical Female Blades Armor) and a tweak that darkens Cathedral Armory's Orcish Armor by adjusting its Environment Map Scale from 2 to 1. This is a niche utility for Skyrim players using Cathedral Armory who want better integration and a darker Orcish look.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community support with 111 endorsements and over 8,000 downloads.
- Fixes real compatibility issues for popular armor mods, saving you from neck gaps and clipping.
- The darker Orcish armor tweak is a nice touch if you find the original too shiny.
⚠️ Cons
- The tweak is purely cosmetic and may not match your visual setup—the author notes appearance depends on your other graphical mods.
- Only covers a few specific armor mods; if you use other armor replacers, you're out of luck.
- Potential conflicts with other mods that alter the same armor meshes or environment map values.
For Skyrim modders who use Cathedral Armory and want to pair it with the listed armor mods without visual glitches. Also for players who think the Orcish armor is too bright and want a darker, more grounded look. Skip if you don't use Cathedral Armory or those specific mods—this won't do anything for you.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Use a mod manager like MO2 or Vortex to install the FOMOD—it'll let you pick which patches you need.
- Make sure to load this mod after the mods it patches (e.g., after Practical Female Armors) in your load order.
- If you're using an ENB, the darker Orcish armor might look different than the screenshots—adjust your ENB or tweak the value yourself if needed.
