📋 About This Mod

Description

This is a "patch" for Mysticism - A Magic Overhaul and Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim v9.x that removes spells that are too similar, or simply rendered redundant, from any level lists. ESP flagged ESL, so won't contribute toward the 256 plugin limit. Requires both of the original mods.

This is a simple ESPFE plugin, which removes the necessary spells from each leveled list. When a spell had to be removed, I kept the one from Mysticism. As an added bonus you can still add removed spells+tomes to yourself through console, if you still wanna use those spells but just not have them on merchants.

Full list of edits in spoiler below.

Alteration:

  • []Removed Drop Zone. Mysticism has it's own equivalent.[/]

[]Removed Longstride. Mysticism has it's own equivalents.[/]

[]Removed Wither. Mysticism has it's own similar spells.[/]

[]Removed Reyno's Fins. Mysticism has it's own equivalent.[/]

[]Renamed Windrunning to Sky Sprint. Mysticism adds Windrunner so this avoids confusion (Sky Walking was tempting admittedly).[/]

    Conjuration:

    • []Removed Soul Cloak. Mysticism has it's own equivalent.[/]

      Illusion:

      • []Removed Curse of the Silent. Mysticism adds various total "silence" spells, so this spell's very slow magicka drain effect has no use case.[/]

[]Renamed Ghostwalk to Apparition. Mysticism has a master illusion spell of the same name so this avoids confusion.[/]

        Restoration:

        • []Removed Healing Blossom. Mysticism adds various tiered health regeneration spells.[/]

          Install & Uninstall

Install through the mod manager of your choice. Then load the plugin beneath both Mysticism and Apocalypse in your load order.

Preferably you should start a new game. Existing saves will see spells I've removed showing up in shops.

To uninstall, deactivate the plugin and delete the listing in your mod manager. Then either start a new game, or wait 10+ days on your existing ones.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

This patch removes redundant spells from Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim when used alongside Mysticism - A Magic Overhaul, keeping Mysticism's versions. It's an ESPFE plugin that doesn't count toward the plugin limit, and removed spells can still be added via console. Requires both mods and is best for players who want a cleaner spell list without duplicates.

✨ Key Features

Removes spells from Apocalypse that are too similar or redundant when Mysticism is installed, keeping Mysticism's versions.
ESP flagged as ESL, so it doesn't count toward the 256 plugin limit.
Renames two Apocalypse spells (Windrunning to Sky Sprint, Ghostwalk to Apparition) to avoid confusion with Mysticism spells.
Removed spells and tomes can still be added via console commands if you want them.
Load plugin beneath both Mysticism and Apocalypse in your load order.
Preferably start a new game; existing saves may see removed spells in shops.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community-approved with 194 endorsements and over 11k downloads, so it's proven useful.
  • ESPFE means it won't eat your plugin limit, which is a big deal for modded Skyrim.
  • Keeps the better spell versions (Mysticism) while cleaning up clutter from Apocalypse.

⚠️ Cons

  • Requires both Mysticism and Apocalypse, so it's useless if you only run one of them.
  • Existing saves might still see removed spells in shops, so a new game is recommended.
  • Only removes a handful of spells, so if you were hoping for a massive overhaul, this is a minor tweak.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who run both Apocalypse and Mysticism and hate seeing duplicate or redundant spells in merchants' lists. It's a quality-of-life patch for magic users who want a cleaner, more curated spell selection. Skip if you don't use both mods or if you're fine with the overlap.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure to load this patch after both Mysticism and Apocalypse in your load order, or the removals might not apply.
  • If you're on an existing save, you might see removed spells in shops; starting a new game avoids that.
  • Use console commands to add removed spells if you want them back, but remember they won't appear in merchants.
