Vivid Landscapes - Cliffs and Creeks
is the third mod of my landscape series.
It adds a high quality texture which enhances the tundra & reach landscapes with different details like plants, lichen, etc.. They are no "real" 3D-objects, but realized by detailed normal-mapping & parallax effect.
Both Main-textures are in 2048, the highmap in 1024, means if you are already running HD-textures, you won't experience any performance impact. The meshes are modified to improve their UV-mapping and to reduce stretching.

about PARALLAX
In simple words, parallax is a advancement of normalmapping... though the depth-information doesn't get simply "drawn" on the surface, it rather warps the texture itself in the desired direction. You can imagine the parallax-texture as kind of radar map like the NASA ones from Venus. The depth effect can get triangulated out of it.
