📋 About This Mod
This is a simple mod that makes certain types of chests apply estrus on the player or followers when opened. This happens at random and has a user configurable chance of happening.
Also, this is my first mod.
What this mod actually does:
When the player or a follower opens an affected chest (see list below) there is a chance that the chest will contain a single gold coin. Upon closing the chest, it will disappear and one of the estrus animations will be started on the player. The animation played will use all of your settings for EstrusForSkyrim. Which animation plays can be configured in the included MCM menu.
Using a locked chest will not trigger a mimic, but opening the locked chest (after unlocking it) will. Opening a chest while underwater has no chance of triggering a mimic.
The chance of chest being a mimic can be changed using the included MCM menu as can the animation played.
This mod currently does not affect any chests that are unique to the Dragonborn DLC. I tried to do this, and it didn't work for some reason. I will look into it eventually.
Required Files:
EstrusForSkyrim - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/33102 SkyUI - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/3863 SKSE - (if for some insane reason you don't have this already...)
Installing:
Dump all the included files into your skyrim data directory. Add the included esp to your load order. (Load it after zzEstrus.esp) If you are installing into a game you have already started, mimics probably won't appear in areas you have already visited until the area resets.
Upgrading:
To upgrade, do the following:
- [] Find a good place to save well away from any possible mimics and save your game to a new save. Whiterun should work well enough for this. [] Uninstall your old version of Estrus Mimics [] Load your save, wait a minute or 2, then save your game on a new save. [] Install the latest version of Estrus Mimics [] Load your most recent save and reconfigure the mod in the MCM. (You may have to wait a minute for the menu to register.)
Uninstalling:
Remove/delete all packaged files from your Skyrim directory.
List of affected chests:
- []Bandit chests []Draugr chests and urns []Dwemer chest and dressers []Falmer chests []Forsworn chests []Giant chests []Overworld chests (e.g. the chest at the end of a treasure map) []Vampire chests []Witch/Hagraven chests
