What this does

This Vortex companion adds support for managing the UE4SS for MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries Hub and compatible UE4SS add-ons from Vortex.

The companion extension and the UE4SS Hub are separate downloads. This package is the Vortex companion only. It does not include the Hub runtime or the add-ons themselves.

One-time setup

• []Open Vortex and go to Extensions.[/]

  []Use the Drop File(s) area to select this companion ZIP.[/]

  []Restart Vortex.[/]

  After the restart, configure MechWarrior 5 in Vortex with its MW5 game-support extension.

  Install the Hub and add-ons

  • []Close MechWarrior 5.[/]

    []Open Mods -> Install From File in Vortex.[/]

    []Choose the UE4SS Hub ZIP, then enable it.[/]

    []Deploy from Vortex as usual.[/]

    The Hub package supported by this release is 3. 0. 1-mw5. 3. Add-ons made for this companion use the same Install From File -> Enable flow. The companion accepts compatible schema 2 add-on packages.

    If an add-on needs a dependency that is already installed, the companion can enable that exact installed dependency automatically. Missing dependencies are reported and are not downloaded automatically.

    Existing installations and data

    When Vortex recognizes a supported manual UE4SS installation, use Fix -> Migrate and deploy. This backs up the existing loader before bringing it under Vortex management. Keep the game closed while installing, migrating, deploying, or changing the loader.

    Hub settings and the shared UE4SS mod list are preserved through deployment, disabling, and purge. Managed add-on program files are removed when an add-on is disabled, while its persistent data is kept.

    If Vortex reports an unknown loader installation, this companion refuses to proceed. Resolve the installation manually before trying again.

    Compatibility

    The Hub currently uses UE4SS build 3. 0. 1-1005. Some native add-ons are supplied for UE4SS 3. 0. 1-1012, which does not match the Hub runtime. Follow each native add-on author's exact UE4SS requirement before installing or replacing the runtime. A shared 3. 0. 1 label alone does not establish native compatibility.

    This release manages packages that declare a compatible companion contract. It does not claim that every UE4SS mod or archive is supported.

    Important distribution note

    This release requires the one-time manual extension import described above. Catalog admission, one-click installation, and public Nexus Mod Manager download delivery have not been verified for this release.
