NXM Proxy

What?

Usually the "Download with Manager" links on nexusmods.com will always open the same mod manager, this is a technical limitation of how browsers/windows handle network protocols.

This extension includes a little tool, configurable through Vortex, that will handle the download links instead of mod managers and then forward the download to the mod manager assigned for a specific game.

tl;dr: With this you can have Skyrim mods download to Vortex and New Vegas mods to Mod Organizer for example.

Gimmick: Using this Vortex will actually react a little quicker when starting a download.

How?

In Vortex go to Extensions -> Find More, look for NXM Proxy, install.

Vortex will prompt for you to restart it, after you did go to Settings -> NXM Proxy.

Enable the Proxy, then add any mod manager you want to handle downloads, then assign the games you want to use with each.

Other Mod Managers

The nxmproxy tool is a single ~400kb exe without any further dependencies. It's released under the GPL at https://github.com/TanninOne/nxmproxy and configurable through a command line or a configuration file.

You are welcome to include or integrate it with any other mod manager.
