This page contains two extensions: one for HFW and another for HZDR. Please choose the one you need, or install both if you’re modding both games. You can read more about each extension below.

What is ModForge HZDR?

This is freshly made extension for Vortex which will allow to install traditional well known .core and .stream mods. (porting of my HZD mods in proress)

  What is ModForge HFW?

  ModForge for HFW - is a powerfull extension for Vortex which supports all modern mods for Horizon Forbidden West, including hair mods, save files and other. Note for HFW Mod Manager users:  If you previously used the HFW Mod Manager, you can safely install this extension — it won’t overwrite your existing mods folder. ModForge manages mods in a separate mods_Vortex folder, so you can always switch back to HFW Mod Manager without loosing your previous mod list.

    How to install this Vortex extension

    For users who installing extension for the first time

    If you previously used the HFW Mod Manager, you can safely install this extension — it won’t overwrite your existing mods folder. ModForge manages mods in a separate mods_Vortex folder, so you can always switch back to HFW Mod Manager if you prefer.

    1. To install this extension, download it from the Files section and open Vortex. On the Extensions page, drop the ModForge extension into the bottom‑right Drop‑in field, then restart Vortex.

    2. Make sure to activate your game on the Games page.

    For users who switching from another HFW or HZDR Vortex extension

    If you was using another extension for Horizon Forbidden West and want to switch to ModForge you can easily do it by following these steps:

    1. With HFW game selected go to your main Mods page in Vortex and press Pugre Mods button on your upper panel.

    2. Go to Extensions page and disable or remove your old HFW or HZDR extension of another author.

    3. Install the ModForge extension. To install this extension, download it from the Files section and open Vortex. On the Extensions page, drop the ModForge extension into the bottom‑right Drop‑in field, then restart Vortex.

    4. Make sure your game is activated on the Games page.

    5. Come back to your main Mods page, select all mods (using ctrl+click or shift+click) and then press Reinstall button.

    6. Choose "Replace the existing mod" and toggle checkbox "Do this for all" , then press Continue.
