LOCKDOWN Protocol Vortex Extension — UE4SS Experimental Update

This community-maintained release restores one-click Vortex support after LOCKDOWN Protocol moved to Unreal Engine 5. 5.

What it fixes

Stable UE4SS 3. 0. 1 no longer initializes correctly with the current game. The framework now uses UE4SS experimental with dwmapi.dll and a lowercase ue4ss folder in LockdownProtocol/Binaries/Win64. Earlier Vortex support can mistake that framework for an ordinary Lua mod.

Installation

Install this package from Vortex's Extensions page. Then download UE4SS experimental, UE4SS Lua mods, and LogicMods through Vortex as usual. Do not enable this alongside the original 2. 0. 0 extension: both register the same game.

Deployment support

• UE4SS experimental: deploys dwmapi.dll and ue4ss/ directly to LockdownProtocol/Binaries/Win64.

• UE4SS Lua mods: deploys ModName/Scripts/*.lua packages to LockdownProtocol/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods.

• LogicMods: deploys .pak, .utoc, and .ucas files to LockdownProtocol/Content/Paks/LogicMods.

The experimental-framework signature is checked before generic Lua mod detection, preventing the bundled UE4SS scripts from being installed to the wrong location.

LOCKDOWN Protocol on Steam (App ID 2780980). Use the UE4SS experimental release compatible with Unreal Engine 5. 5.
