📋 About This Mod
A Mod Organizer 2 plugin that asks for a source URL when you install a mod that did not come from Nexus Mods or doesn't have a URL
What it does
Mods downloaded from Nexus Mods get their web page link from Mod Organizer 2 (2. 5.x) automatically. Mods from anywhere else (other sites, Patreon posts, forum threads, Discord files) have no link, so months later you cannot remember where a mod came from or where to check it for updates. Custom URL Prompt fixes that at the moment it matters. When you finish installing a mod that does not look like it came from Nexusmods, a small window asks for the source URL. Paste it, click Save, and the link is stored on the mod. If the address is already on your clipboard, it is filled in for you. Features
-
[]Automatic - The prompt appears after each install. There is nothing to open or start, and no settings to
configure[/
][]Only when needed - Mods that already have a URL, and mods that look like they came from Nexus Mods, are skipped silently[/]
[]Clipboard prefill - If your clipboard holds a single http:// or https:// address, it is filled in and selected, so you can just click Save[/]
[]Skip anytime - Click Skip to leave the mod without a URL. Nothing is saved[/]
[]Queues multiple installs - If you install several mods in a row, the prompts appear one at a time, in order.[/]
[]Stays out of the way - If MO2 is showing another dialog or a menu, the plugin waits and shows the prompt afterwards.[/]
[]Log messages - If something goes wrong, a line starting with is written to the MO2 log.[/]
How it works
After MO2 finishes installing a mod, the plugin checks, if the mod already has a URL it is skipped. The plugin looks for the downloads .meta file next to the archive you installed from. If it shows a Nexus mod ID and a Nexus (or blank) repository, the mod is treated as a Nexus mod and skipped. If that file is missing or unreadable, the plugin falls back to the information MO2 stored on the mod: a Nexusmod ID above zero and the repository Nexus. If none of that points to Nexus Mods, the prompt window appears.
Installation
