Splinter Hill

Description

Customized Reshade Night Vision preset for Silent Hill 2 Remake

Installation instructions

Start Reshade - select Silent Hill 2 Remake. Follow Reshade instructions (load preset Splinter Hill).

Once ingame, press Fn + Home to enter Reshade UI. Select the Splinter Hill preset from the upper left search field/map opener.

This preset doesn't use RTGI but it is there to check and enable the MXAO; once you set RTGI ambient occlusion and bounces

to zero and check Lighting Channel. The game screen will show just grey. Then you need to click the top menu tab "Add-ons". Beneath the 'Generic Depth' section you see a column with rows of resolutions.

Click one of the top ones' checkboxes and you will notice the MXAO ambient occlusion appears. Then go back to the top menu 'Home' button and in the RTGI menu, click the circular checkbox 'None' above the checkbox 'Lighting Channel' to return to regular game screen mode. Then move your mouse cursor outside the Reshade UI window and press Esc on your keyboard to exit the Reshade UI. I have bound the Night Vision to the '9' key on the keyboard. So you can map the '9' for night vision to your controlpad through Steam control pad settings for example. Done and enjoy the Night Vision in the game.  (I bound the '0' key as ON/OFF switch for the entire reshade preset).
