GarbageGoober — auto-sort loose loot into category chests

A server-side mod for SCUM dedicated servers. On a timer it sweeps loose, on-the-floor loot inside a flag's influence and sorts each item into a chest in that same flag whose custom name matches the item's category — built from SCUM's real vendor categories. Drop your haul anywhere in the base — loose loot, loaded bags, even guns with attachments — and come back to it sorted into the right chests.

Everything is driven from normal in-game chat (type goober for the command list). No client mod — players need nothing installed, so client BattlEye stays on.

⚠ Scope

Designed for a dedicated server (runs inside the server process via UE4SS; players need nothing, client BattlEye stays on). It also works in client-hosted single-player, but that means modding your own client — see that install section's warning. It does nothing on a server you don't control; use it on your own / authorised setups only.

How it works

• []On a timer (default 60s), every loose on-the-floor item inside a flag's influence is matched to a chest in that same flag whose custom name matches the item's category — and relocated to it from anywhere in the base, not just from within arm's reach of the chest.[/]

  []Categories are matched most-specific first, falling back toward the general node; no match means the item is left in place and logged.[/]

  []Name your chests after a category leaf (e.g. Ammo, Drink, FirstAid) for fine sorting, or after a trader group (e.g. Armorer, Bartender, GeneralGoods) to catch a whole group.[/]

  []Loaded bags and attachment-laden guns: drop one and its contents/attachments are tipped onto the ground next to you, then sorted to their own category chests over the next couple of sweeps (the empty bag/gun goes to its own chest). Walk over to your chests and watch it tidy itself.[/]

  Features

    []Empties bags & strips guns — a dropped bag's contents and a gun's attachments are tipped out and sorted to their own category chests (ammo → Ammo, scope → RangedWeaponAccessories, …), the empty bag/gun to its own chest.[/]

    []Entitlement gate — ships default-on (works for everyone out of the box); restrict or sell access via per-player grants, per-flag overrides, or the global default. Only per-player grants touch the DB (read-only, user-supplied sqlite3.exe).[/]

    What you need (both setups)

    • []SCUM — a dedicated server you administer (SteamCMD app 3792580) OR, for single-player, your own SCUM client.[/]

      []UE4SS — the loader this mod runs inside. Get it from the RE-UE4SS experimental-latest page and download the file named UE4SS_v3. 0. 1-.zip (e.g. UE4SS_v3. 0. 1-954-g272ce2f8.zip; the build number changes over time).

      You need the experimental/latest build — it uses the modern ue4ss\ sub-folder layout that every path below assumes (dwmapi.dll next to the game .exe, everything else under ue4ss\). The older stable v3. 0. 1 download uses a flat layout and will not match these steps — don't use it. What makes UE4SS stable on SCUM is the shipped UE4SS-settings-SCUM.ini (step 2), not the exact build number.[/]

      Install — Vortex (easiest)

      If you use the Vortex mod manager with the SCUM (UE4SS) game extension, this is by far the simplest path — Vortex sets up UE4SS and enables the mod for you, so you can skip the manual UE4SS download, the settings file, and the mod-list editing below.

      []Manage the game in Vortex — SCUM Dedicated Server (server-side, recommended) or SCUM (single-player). On first manage, the extension auto-downloads UE4SS and applies the SCUM-safe settings.[/]
