📋 About This Mod
A framework. Mods write their interface as HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and Sideload renders it as real Unity UI on the in-game phone. Install it because a mod you want asks for it - on its own it adds nothing to the game.

Installing this because another mod asked for it? That is the whole story. Drop it in and carry on -
Sideload adds no gameplay, no menu and no phone app of its own, and every developer tool inside it is off
until you switch it on. A mod manager handles it for you.
For mod authors
A phone app is a folder of three web files plus one line of C#. Sideload parses the HTML, resolves the CSS,
runs the JavaScript and renders the result as real Unity UI objects and TextMeshPro text. No browser, no
native code, no subprocess.
Apps. Register("mystash", "MyMod. Assets.mystash", title: "Stash");
The reference app is 518 lines of HTML/CSS/JS. The hand-built uGUI version of the same screen was 781 lines of
C#, sixty of them spent computing the width, line count and height of one speech bubble. In CSS that bubble is
align-self, max-width and padding. Changing the layout costs a file save instead of a
rebuild and a game launch.
What you get
-
[]A real cascade - AngleSharp's parser and selector engine, custom properties, var(), !important, specificity ordering. Not an approximation of CSS.[/]
[]A real flexbox - grow, shrink, basis, wrap, gaps, absolute positioning, and the automatic content-based minimum that decides whether your list scrolls.[/]
[]JavaScript through Jint - ES2015 to ES2024, classes, optional chaining, destructuring. Nothing transpiled.[/]
[]Both orientations - your app declares which ways round it may be held, and the player turns the phone with the game's own rotate keys. No button of ours on your screen.[/]
[]Phone integration - your own app icon, the vanilla unread badge, the game's own notifications, and images your mod produces at runtime.[/]
[]Hot reload - save a file, the page rebuilds in about 250 ms. No game restart.[/]
[]Real Chrome DevTools - attach the actual inspector to a page running inside the game: console, Elements tree, computed styles.[/]
[]Headless tests - your page's JavaScript runs against your real C# handlers with no Unity and no game, in about a second.[/]
Your mod stays independent
You compile in one file with zero references: no MelonLoader, no Unity, no IL2CPP interop, and no reference to
Sideload itself. It finds the host by reflection, and without Sideload installed every call is a no-op, so
your mod loads instead of throwing. Registration is load-order proof.
Honest limits
Sideload is not a browser and does not pretend to be. The supported property
