📋 About This Mod

Mules

A new hireable employee class for Schedule 1: the Mule. Mules walk on foot between any two storage containers -- same property, across town, doesn't matter. Moving items from a designated Source to a designated Destination until the Source is empty, the Destination is full, or the Destination doesn't accept anything in the Source.

Drug mules. Cheap labor. Slower than driving. Way more thematic.

Features

Hire one from Manny like any other employee

The Fixer's hire menu now lists Mule alongside Botanist, Cleaner, Chemist, and Packager. Pick a property, confirm, done. Same wage flow, same Home (locker) requirement, same daily-pay loop as the vanilla classes. No new NPCs, no new buildings, no new menus to learn.

Multi-route, cross-property routing

Click a Mule with the management clipboard and you get a Locker field plus a Routes list. Each route is a Pickup → Dropoff pair, and a Mule services up to 4 routes in round-robin: one trip per route per cycle. Got too much undried weed at the Sweatshop and a Storage Unit that's hungry for work? Set up a route. Want that same Mule to also run dried weed from that Storage Unit to your Docks Warehouse? Add another route! Same Mule, same wage. Click Pickup or Dropoff and you get a cross-property picker listing every storage container across all your properties, with property name, storage name, and a contents preview per row.

Multi-type, multi-stack trips with destination-aware locking

A Mule walks Home → Pickup → Dropoff → Home for each route in turn. Per trip they pick up as many stack-slots of items as the Destination has room for, and a single trip can carry a mix of item types, not just multiple stacks of one thing. Defaults to 8 slots (matching the player's inventory), tunable. Each item form (raw buds vs jars vs baggies, different qualities) is handled as its own stack. Items are never mixed across packagings, and the math is conservation-clean: trip lifecycle is fully traced and validated against intensive logical and game-tracing tests.

The trip pre-locks destination slots per item type before pickup, so a Mule never grabs more than they can deliver. If a destination fills up between pickup and arrival, the carry returns to source. The full carry stays in inventory if the trip is interrupted, and resumes when the Mule continues.

Mules look like Mules

Mules wear a brown overalls-and-vest outfit so you can pick them out at a glance. Their assigned beds get a matching brown blanket. (Lockers are a work-in-progress: currently they tint brown all over instead of the narrow stripe vanilla us

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Tiny but dedicated following (31 endorsements) — niche mods like this often get overlooked, but the concept is solid.
  • Fills a specific gap: if you're tired of using cars for every delivery, this adds a walking alternative.
  • Simple integration: hire from Manny and set routes like handlers, so it fits the game's existing mechanics.

⚠️ Cons

  • Low endorsement count (31) means it's not widely tested — you might hit bugs or compatibility issues.
  • Last updated in May 2026, so it may not be actively maintained for the latest game version.
  • Potential conflicts with other mods that alter employee behavior or the clipboard UI.
🎯 Is This For You?
For players who enjoy micromanaging logistics and want a more grounded, vehicle-free transport option. If you're a completionist who likes to optimize every aspect of your empire, this adds a new layer. Skip if you prefer fast travel or don't care about employee variety.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure you have the latest game version to avoid compatibility issues with this older mod.
  • When setting routes, use the clipboard like you would for handlers — it's the same interface, so you'll get the hang of it quickly.
  • If you're using other employee mods, test Mules in a separate save first to see if they conflict.
