More Save Backups

DESCRIPTION

Makes backups of save slots before loading and after saving. Keeps backups as far back as you want (default: 5). Also quick save anywhere by pressing F5.

Why do you need this?

The game DOES create one (1 !!!) backup zip file for each save slot, BUT it ONLY does so when you LOAD a game...which means if you load a broken save, it has now overwritten your working backup with a backup of your broken save :/ Furthermore, if you load a saved game from an older version into a new version of the game, then save it, IT STOPS MAKING BACKUPS FOR IT COMPLETELY!?

This mod operates in parallel with the game's own backup system. It makes backups after saving and before loading (but avoids making duplicates). It creates its backups in the same folder the game uses for backups, but adds a timestamp down to seconds, so there can be more than one per save slot.

USAGE NOTES

To load a backup:

• []Go to the Main Menu in the game.[/]

  []On the slot you want to replace with the backup, click "Import", and navigate to the backup file.[/]

  []Click "Confirm".[/]

  []Click on the slot to load it, as usual.[/]

Good question! It depends on when the corruption occurred exactly, so just try the newest backup first, see if it works, and if it's the same or corrupted, try the next-newest backup. One of the newest two should work, unless something remarkable has happened.

INSTALLATION

There are two versions of this mod: IL2CPP (default game version) and Mono (for the "alternative" branch).

Just unpack it directly into your steamapps/common/Schedule I/Mods folder.

You should end up with this:

steamapps/common/Schedule I/Mods/MoreSaveBackups_IL2CPP.dllor this:

steamapps/common/Schedule I/Mods/MoreSaveBackups_Mono.dll

CUSTOMIZABILITY

To change these settings, you can edit the MelonLoader preferences file or use a mod manager. Changes require game/server restart to take effect.

The MelonLoader preferences file is here: steamapps/common/Schedule I/UserData

IMPORTANT NOTE: Settings don't show up in the preferences file, until you've started the game with the mod, and quit the game normally once.
