Press the console key and the phone comes out with a terminal on it. The vanilla console is one input field: no output, no help, no memory. Run give bananas 1 there and nothing visibly happens, because the reason is sitting in a log file behind the game. hash prints it, completes what you are typing, and still remembers your last line tomorrow.

Features

  • []Tab completes the command and its arguments - item ids, NPCs, properties, vehicles, quests, weather, keys. Type give fert and it finds long_life_fertilizer.

[]You see what the command said. Output, warnings and errors land in the terminal, coloured, instead of in a log file you have to go find.

[]The argument shape sits above the prompt, with the argument you are on marked - so setrelationship stops being guesswork.

[]# is whatever you are looking at, so you never look an id up. setrelationship # 5 maxes out the person in front of you without knowing they are benji_coleman, give #hand 5 is five more of what you are holding, setowned #home buys the place you are standing in. Also #car, #near, #it and #last.

[]Every command in one list, filed under the mod that supplied it, with the description the game keeps to itself. help lists them, help give explains one.

[]History that survives a restart, aliases you name yourself, repeat 5 <command>, grep, copy to the system clipboard, and logs for what the game is saying as it happens.

    Requirements

    • []MelonLoader 0. 7. 3 or newer - the mod loader.

[]Sideload 1. 7. 0 or newer - the framework that draws the app on the in-game phone. On an older Sideload hash refuses to start rather than leaving you a mod you cannot reach.

      Installation

Vortex: install the archive as-is - it ships the DLL under mods/ so the Schedule 1 extension deploys it correctly. Install MelonLoader and Sideload first.

      Manual:

      • []Install MelonLoader 0. 7. 3 or newer for Schedule I.

        []Install Sideload 1. 7. 0 or newer.

[]Drop Hash.dll into your Schedule I Mods folder.

[]Enable the console in the game under Settings > Gameplay.

        Using it

The console key opens hash. A home-screen icon appears next to it while the game's console is switched on, and goes away when it is not. Type help to see everything, or help give to see one command explained.

The console has to be enabled in the game's own settings (Settings > Gameplay). That is the game's rule, not this mod's - and hash says so instead of ignoring you.

        Settings

UserData/MelonPreferences.cfg, section Hash: HijackConsoleKey (default on) makes the console key open hash. Turn it off and the vanilla console bar comes back, for a player who prefers it or a mod that needs it.

Your history and aliases live in UserData/Hash/. Which commands you use most is remembered per save, beside it.

        Compatibility

        • []Multiplayer: the console itself is host-only, and vanilla communicates that by doing nothing at all when a client presses the key. hash opens anyway and tells you why - and help, the command reference and the search still work, because looking something up is not the same as running it.

[]Only the host needs the mod. A client without it loses nothing it could have used.

        • Removing hash is safe at any time: it stores nothing in your save. History and aliases sit in UserData/Hash/ and can be deleted separately.

          For mod authors

If your mod answers the console with a Harmony prefix, its words are invisible to every command list and autocomplete in the game - there is nothing registered to enu
