📋 About This Mod

Adds a chance of spawning more powerful version of (most) traps ingame that deal more damage in general. Semi-unbalanced.

Casualties: Supercharged

This mod contains extremely loud sounds, mainly "sonarmegaouch.ogg". If you are sensitive to loud sounds i recommend you turn on UseLightHitSound in config.

Casualties: Supercharged is a BepInEx 5 plugin for Casualties Unknown that adds configurable supercharged versions of vanilla traps.

Supercharged traps are still based on the original game traps, but they can roll into stronger variants during world generation, use optional custom sprites and sounds, and apply harsher or stronger effects. Making certain trap encounters feel like rare, nasty outliers.

It is worth noting that supercharged traps may feel unfair, if so feel free to adjust the associated config.

Requirements

Casualties Unknown Demo

BepInEx 5 for Unity Mono

Windows x64 game install

Installation

Install BepInEx 5 into the Casualties Unknown game folder.

Launch the game once so BepInEx creates its folders.

Place CasualtiesSupercharged.dll into a folder inside:

<Game Folder>\BepInEx\plugins\

If the release includes an Assets folder, keep it next to the DLL, for example:

<Game Folder>\BepInEx\plugins\CasualtiesSupercharged\CasualtiesSupercharged.dll

<Game Folder>\BepInEx\plugins\CasualtiesSupercharged\Assets\SuperchargedTraps\

Launch the game once to generate the config file:

<Game Folder>\BepInEx\config\com.carlo.casualtiesunknown.superchargedtraps.cfg

Edit the config if you want different spawn chances, damage values, cooldowns, charge times, or screen effect strength.

What It Does

Adds supercharged variants for:

  • []Landmine[/]

    []Gunmine[/]

    []Turret[/]

    []Sound cannon[/]

    []Launch pad[/]

    []Spike stabber[/]

    []Bear trap[/]

    []Coil[/]

World generation can replace supported vanilla traps with their supercharged version based on configurable percent chances.

The vanilla spawn command also supports super-prefixed test names such as superlandmine, superturret, supersoundcannon, supercoil, and similar.

A dedicated spawnsuper console command is included for testing guaranteed supercharged traps.

A spawncategory supertraps console category is included for quickly placing a lineup of the current supercharged traps. The sound cannon in that lineup is spawned deactivated so it does not immediately ruin your day while testing.

    Trap Overview (Default config)

Supercharged landmines have a stronger blast, more severe limb trauma, shrapnel, stronger hearing damage, and a configurable chance for fractures or amputation. Defaults are meant to be dangerous but not automatic character deletion.

Supercharged gunmines and turrets fire heavier rounds with a larger hit radius, custom optional gun sounds, stronger muzzle effects, terrain damage on misses, and extra trauma on hit. Headshots have a configurable survivability floor so they are not always instant death (as I've come to realize that they are somehow faster than the kill command).

Supercharged sound cannons charge more slowly and punish successful hits harder than vanilla. Successful hits use sonarmegaouch.ogg by default, or full-volume sonarouch.ogg when light hit sound mode is enabled. Blocked hits use sonarouch.ogg at low volume and apply only light symptoms.

Supercharged launch pads apply stronger launch force, can throw diagonally, have a longer cooldown, and cap player velocity so they are not simply ceiling-execution machines by default (But you might still get severe brain damage or fracture your skull).

Supercharged spike stabbers can rearm after firing. They keep the vanilla warning-light behavior, retract before becoming dangerous again, and apply meaner wound/bone effects when they hit.

Supercharged bear traps hold the caught limb longer, ramp damage over time, punish struggling, add shrapnel, and damage connected limbs.

Supercharged coils damage instead of helping. They can induce fibrillation progress, apply timed ragdoll, open wounds, and optionally cause brain damage. Defaults are balanced away from instant guaranteed VFib.

    Configuration

The generated config controls the important values.

    Useful entries include:

    General. Enabled

    General. SpawnCommandSuperchargePercent

    Spawn Chances. LandMine
