INTRODUCTION
The title is quite self explanatory: this mod reworks all vanilla horses and gives them a fresh look!
All this while keeping the original "vanilla" touch as much as possible.
WHAT YOU'LL FIND IN THIS MOD AND WHY IS IT BETTER THAN VANILLA?
Not only this mod enhances all vanilla horses with new coats and models but it also adds some cool things:
1. Eyes
In fact, Stay Vanilla adds new eye colors. You read it correctly, adds.
There will still be those brown and blue eyed horses, but keep an eye on those nags for different colored eyes!
note from future me to past me, wtf were you thinking with this "joke"? Imma keep it just to remind myself I deserve to be shamed
2. Draft Horses' voices
All draft horses will have deeper voices (like the Ardennes does).
3. Coat Names
Some horse coat names have been changed, maily to make them more accurate.
For example, in the vanilla game, there is a "Grullo Dun" Mustang. Since Grullo is a dun variation, saying "Grullo Dun" would be redundant. This coat was renamed "Grullo" in Stay Vanilla.
4. Horse Statistics
Last but not least, horse statistics have been tweaked as I wanted every breed to be even more unique.
Stats have been modified based on real breeds traits or following my own personal taste.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community backing with 287 endorsements and nearly 9k downloads
- Perfect for players who want better-looking horses but hate straying from vanilla vibes
- Lightweight cosmetic change that won't mess with gameplay
⚠️ Cons
- No screenshots or detailed previews in the description, so you're flying blind until you try it
- Only touches horses—if you wanted more creature overhauls, this won't scratch that itch
- Potential conflicts with other horse mods that alter the same meshes or textures
For Skyrim players who love the vanilla look but wish the horses weren't so rough around the edges. If you're a purist who avoids total overhauls, this is your sweet spot. Skip it if you want dramatic redesigns or gameplay changes—this is purely cosmetic.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, just download and install—it'll handle the file placement automatically.
- Load order shouldn't matter much for a texture/mesh replacer, but placing it after other horse mods ensures it takes priority.
- Check the mod's file structure after install to confirm it's overwriting the vanilla horse meshes correctly.
