📋 About This Mod
While in-game, you will now have the option of attaching your lantern to your satchel at will!
No more "Lantern on Belt" glitches needed!
As of 2. 0, you can now attach your lantern to your horse as well utilizing the same controls provided it has a saddle on it.
When mounting a horse with your lantern on your satchel, the lantern will automatically be transferred to the horse you are currently on; when leaving, it will return to you.
Controls are contextual and are as follows:
While your Lantern is equipped press the "Reload" button on your Keyboard/Mouse or Controller.
By default, these are "R" and "B" respectively.
If you want to remove it from your satchel, simply reselect the lantern from the weapon wheel, pressing the "Holster" button will return it to your inventory.
As of 2. 6: When pressing the "Reload" button while holding a pistol or revolver in your primary hand, you will now be able to take the lantern back off your satchel without holstering your pistol

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 7,723 endorsements and 307k downloads—clearly a must-have for many.
- Fixes a real annoyance: Arthur can hold a lantern and still have both hands free.
- Lightweight gameplay tweak that doesn't overhaul the game, just improves a small detail.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2021, so it may not be compatible with the latest RDR 2 patches or mods.
- Potential conflicts with other gameplay mods that alter lantern or hand mechanics.
- Only addresses the lantern issue; if you're looking for broader gameplay changes, this won't cover them.
For RDR 2 players who love immersive details but hate the lantern's hand restriction. If you're a completionist or roleplayer who uses the lantern often, this is a no-brainer. Skip if you want major gameplay overhauls—this is a focused quality-of-life fix.
💡 Beginner Tips

- If you're using a mod manager, enable this mod and check for conflicts in the load order.
- Test the lantern in a campfire or dark area to confirm the fix works before continuing your playthrough.
