Natural Light Reworked – WIP Visual Overhaul

NLR is a work-in-progress visual overhaul that fully reshapes the game’s artistic look while not looking too flashy and focused on realism. Prioritizing performance while delivering a striking visual upgrade, this mod brings:

• []Increased GI intensity for more natural lighting at certain times.[/]

  []Carried lanterns now cast warm, orange light.[/]

  []Darker, more immersive nights.[/]

  []Removal of artificial lights around peds (and player).[/]

  []Various graphics improvements.[/]

This mod basically strip the Rockstar's default color values (sky color, direct light, etc.) into a neutral white, along with some meticulous adjustments for constant values, allowing for its atmosphere shader math to do its job without unrealistic color shifting. There are default wavelengths values exist inside the weather timecycle files, so that alone is pretty much enough for a very realistic and convincing lighting without any custom tints except for stylization.

No deep engine improvements and any other long winded marketing crap because it's all impossible. No mods can modify the core renderer of RAGE.

USE TAA + FXAA, FSR, OR DLSS 4. 5

DLSS 4 and/or below causes significant artifacts in dark areas especially during nighttime.

For better ambient occlusion, go to your Documents folder > Rockstar Games > Red Dead Redemption 2 > Settings > system.xml

Find this line:

<ssaoType value="0" />Set the value to 2. Hit save then set the file to read only under properties to prevent the game from changing it back to 0.

INSTALLATION

Simply put the "NLR" folder inside lml directory. Read the readme file for further instructions.
