Rex Components Enhancements (RCE)

Rex Components Enhancements expands Railroader’s definition editor with customizable lighting, flexible truck layouts, and editing tools for locomotive and rolling stock creators.

Build working class lights, horn-triggered ditch lights, rotating beacons, and custom illumination for steps, walkways, cabs, and other model details. Add and configure components directly in the game’s definition editor.

• []Class lights: Click to cycle through Off, White, Green, and Red. Choose the game’s class-lamp fixture or a headlight-style beam and glow for your own housing. Group matching lights to control them together.[/]

  []Marker lights: Red, green, and white presets, plus custom hex colors. Configure independent switches, color selections, and optional headlight control through the mod’s UMM panel.[/]

  []Ditch lights: Flash in response to the owning vehicle’s horn or whistle. Choose alternating or synchronized flashing, adjustable frequency, dim-to-bright transitions, and flashing duration after horn release. Create new lights or control an existing headlight.[/]

  []Rotating beacons: Customize color, brightness, range, rotation speed, and direction. Choose always-on operation, UMM panel controls, or clickable switching.[/]

  []Custom light sources: Add illumination with Sphere, Cone, Square, or Rectangle shapes. Adjust color, intensity, range, and direction. Standard sources can follow either end’s headlights; the separate clickable source provides manual On/Off control.[/]

  []Flexible truck layouts: Components for paired trucks, a single complete bogie, and additional trucks support three-, four-, five-truck layouts and more. Configure offsets, height, orientation, and swivel locks.[/]

  []Editor tools: Search components by name or type, Undo and Redo edits, and Revert to the current session’s opening state or last successful Apply/save.[/]

Vehicle creators configure these components in their definitions; players can install the mod as a dependency for vehicles that use them. Custom light housings remain part of the creator’s model.

Requires Railroader and Unity Mod Manager 0. 32. 4 or newer.

To install, close the game and extract the included

Railroader/Mods. The

info.json The mod displays as Rex Components Enhancements in UMM.

Version 0. 11. 1 is experimental. In-game behavior, multiplayer, and save/reload still require verification. Truck layouts affect visual arrangement while retaining Railroader’s two native physics supports; truck desynchronization has not been confirmed fixed.
