Bethlehem Steel F39 Trailer Flatcar

Bethlehem Steel PRR Spec F39 Flatcar for Piggyback Service

Adds a F39 flatcar to the game with a colorable, Pennsylvania Railroad, TTX patched from PRR, and a full yellow TTX variant.

With the growing popularity of the Truc-Train service, the Pennsylvania Railroad took delivery of 200 75' flatcars from Bethlehem Steel starting in December 1954 and entering service in March of 1955. Compared to the F30D, the F39 was an additional 25ft longer, allowing for 2 35' trailers compared to the 1 of the F30D. When the Trailer Train Corporation was incorporated in 1956, all 500 of the F39, F39A, and F39Bs on the Pennsy's roster were transferred to TTX and the PRR lettering was painted over to TTX. F39s remained in TOFC service until 1984, where they were then converted and sold for use as regular flatcars due to the growing size of tractor trailers and introduction of 89' cars.

In game, these cars are represented with a colorable variant, PRR variant, TTX patched variant, and a full TTX repaint available as a separate download who want a slightly more modern experience.

  Due to the impending "MOW" update and changes to loads, as well as the very annoying definition file structure, I have elected not to create the full 20 or so variants.
