📋 About This Mod
Adds a new neuromod skill tree themed around RPG Attributes, each with both positive and negative effects.
MOD DESCRIPTION
This mod grants a brand new skill tree with 13 new neuromod abilities. No edits have been done to the original game's skill trees, the new ones are separate and complimentary to the base game. The basic premise is that each of these mods are cheap but also come with a variety of penalties that you'll have to work around to suit your playstyle.
BACKSTORY
After hearing rumours about the Fatal Fortress 2 campaign going around on Talos One and after playing for perhaps a little too long with a Huntress Boltcaster, one anonymous and bored employee in the Neuromods Division decided to create a new range of them, taking inspiration from the attributes system they vaguely heard about from various Dungeons and Dragons style games.
The results were... a bit mixed, to say the least.
But with the outbreak of the Typhon occurring before these issues could be fixed, it's now up to Morgan Yu to decide if they want to take the risk on these untested skills. But hey, what's the worst that could happen?
INSTALLATION
This mod requires Chairloader and the Menu Unlimiter mod so be sure to download and install those first.
Next, download this mod, open up Chairmanager and install the mod into it.
As you as you keep this mod below Menu Unlimiter the sort order shouldn't matter too much, but keep this below any other mods that edit skill trees for the best result.
Deploy your mods, then open up Prey.
You MUST start a new game if using this mod for the first time, otherwise the new skills may not show up correctly.
Also: If updating, I would highly recommend starting a new game from scratch and wiping your previous saves from your hard drive / cloud storage otherwise you may run into incompatibility issues and bugs.
So start a new campaign and enjoy your new skills!
NEW ABILITIES
The new in-game attributes are found on on the same page as the standard skill tree, but with Chairloader running there will be an option to go to a new page. Do this and you'll find the new menu. As mentioned before, each attribute will have bonuses (listed in the first sentence of their description) and penalties (listed in the second sentence). The attributes are as follows:
STRENGTH - Increase damage done by the wrench by 35% and increase chances of a critical hit by 5%. Consume 40% more stamina from wrench attacks.
CONSTITUTION - Reduce your chances of receiving trauma by 25% and absorb 2% of ether, flame and electric damage. Reduce your maximum Psi by 15 points.
ENDURANCE - Increase maximum health by 25 points and lift heavy objects 25% faster. Increase repair and research scanning time by 15%.
AGILITY - Increase jump height by 50% and increase strafe and backpedal speed by 50%. Reduce weapon accuracy by 15%.
DEXTERITY - Increase stamina by 15 points and increase overall move speed by 10%. Reduce health regeneration by 10 points.
SNEAKING - Reduce your visibility by 40% when standing upright and move 5% faster when sneaking. Increase your chances of receiving trauma by 15%.
CUNNING - Increase weapon accuracy by 25% and reduce weapon recoil by 5%. Increase Psi powers cost by 15%.
INTUITION - Increase your recycling yield by 25% and increase chances of a critical hit with the 9mm Pistol, Shotgun and Q-Beam by 2%. Increase visibility when standing by 30%.
PERCEPTION - Reduce repair and research scanning time by 25% and increase damage to scanned enemies by 5%. Swing the wrench 35% slower.
INTELLIGENCE - Increase your maximum Psi by 25 points and passively regenerate 1 Psi every 5 seconds. Reduce maximum health by 15 points.
WISDOM - Reduce Psi powers cost by 25% and reduce Psi cooldown time by 20%. Reduce strafe and backpedal speed by 40%.
VITALITY - Gain the ability to consume health as a resource for Psi powers and regenerate up to 15 health points after taking damage. Reduce recycling yield by 15%.
LUCK - Gain minor increases in a variety of areas. This attribute has no penalties, but costs 3 neuromods to install.
As indicated by the coloured text above, certain attributes will complement certain playstyles (it shouldn't be too hard to figure out) and their combined penalties will not reduce the bonuses offered. Consequently, each penalty will reduce (but not eliminate) a bonus from a different coloured attribute.
You are of course f
